  • Barney is a fun all rounder making him a great fit for pony club or riding club activities
  • Enjoys his job and loves attention

Barney is a really happy pony that loves to take part in all pony club type activities, he's the sort that's been there and done that so is very capable to take part in most things, he loves his jumping and really sorts himself out to a fence - he can go up or down a gear depending on how competitive the rider is - really does well around 70-80cm

Turns out on his own or happy to be with others and comes to the gate when called

Happy to be around farm machinery and great on the roads

Up to date with worming, teeth, physio & vaccinated - good with farrier and good to box travels alone or with another pony and stands on the box

Mainly hacked in the current home so low mileage but previous home was more competitive, recently been brought back into work and taken to various local shows with placings and Somerford for a spring camp

Will be great for a young competent rider moving to a second pony

Comes with bespoke saddle and bridle fitted to Barney which is just two years old and cost £2k plus wardrobe (included)

Barney is looking for a kind and knowledgeable home and in return he will be your best friend

Good trial facilities and open to Vet

Beautiful 2009 Chesnut gelding standing at a full up 13hh. This gorgeous boy is a parents dream.

He has three gorgeous flashy, floaty and expressive paces, has shown successfully and moves beautifully. Snaffle mouthed, Joey offers a lovely ride on the flat, he’s kind and forgiving and he’s happy to teach a novice the ropes, or step up a gear for a more able and confident jockey.

Joey jumps cross country and showjumps, we have jumped him up to 90cm, he’s scopey and enjoys it, but again would be happy to step down and trot over small fences with a wobbly jockey, Joey has the perfect canter to learn on, and he’s kind under saddle and on the ground.

He will stand for hours to be groomed, likes children and just wants to please, he will hack on the buckle alone & with others, isn’t bothered by tractors, machinery, heavy traffic, open spaces etc, brilliant with farm animals / dogs etc. this super lad offers so much experience, a hard to find pony that’s been there, done it and has the t shirt.

He’s done loads of riding club, low level shows, showjumping, etc. a stand out from the crowd flashy lad that offers a super safe ride. Ideal family pony. Open to any vet or trainer

  • 4 x Double Clears at 75cm and 80cm at recent BS April Mixed Show, David Broome Event Centre
Silva has taken my daughter from jumping 70cms to now jumping 1.10m+

Bronze League finalist in 2022 (placed 6th in UK)

Highest Points scored, winning the Bronze League (Wales) 1st April - 30 September 2023

However, since Summer 2023, my daughter has had a huge growth spurt and is now too big and too tall for this pony and the mare just doesn't like it. We have to admit that Silva needs a smaller jockey.

Silva was ridden by a smaller rider at the recent April Mixed British Show-jumping show at the David Broome Event Centre was back to her best - 4 x double clears at 75 and 80cm and in the placings each time - 2 x 1st (75 Open) and 2 x 4th (80 Open).

Being a schoolmistress, the pony likes to 'nanny' her rider, look after them and show them the ropes.

We have mainly concentrated on show-jumping and she will jump 70 - 1m all day, every day, and very capable at 1.10m. We have also taken part in lots of Junior Academy events.

Silva is forward going but not spooky - happily canters over the wooden bridge in the Derby classes at Wales and West (David Broome Event Centre)

She is a great all-rounder, lovely to hack.

Good on the ground. Excellent to load (both trailer and lorry), clip and shoe. Teeth done September 2023.

Home is very important for this special pony, for her to move on and continue teaching her next little superstar.

Based in West Wales, near Cardigan.

A lovely experienced pony who will look after its jockey. Given so much fun in past 4 years - all Pony Club activities - attended PC camps, rallies, PC competitions/ teams, unaffiliated competitions - SJ, eventing, dressage, XC. Good to hunt. 3 lovely rhythmic and accurate paces. Won many many rosettes and cups and prizes.

Won 80 and 90 showjumping in past 6 months, qualified for Eland Lodge, Spring Barrier Festival, Sunshine Tour 2024. PC Regional show jumping 2023. Quick and accurate in jump off.

Safe to hack and be looked after solely by teenager. I have never worried as a mum. Used for RDA once a week.
Friendly on the ground, excellent to shoe, load, catch, tack up. Quite good to clip and pull mane. Lives out in mixed herd but happy on own or in stable. Shod in front.

Sadly outgrown, loving home wanted. Would suit young teenager or lightweight adult to hack, hunt and compete.

Contact Caroline on 07876 452117 for more information. Based in North Hampshire.

Toddy is a lovely quality pony who has been there and done the lot at 14 years young. He is owned by a private family who purchased him to give their daughter confidence to hack out and do some local shows and dressage & he has performed this job well.

Sadly now outgrown he needs a new little jockey to take over the reins.

Straight forward to do, will hack out, not phased by traffic etc - not a bucker / rearer or bolter etc.

We would say Toddy is the perfect 2nd pony for a competitive little one who wants to show / do dressage / or all round pony club home

  • 2nd in the 148 Grand Prix at Weston Lawns

2011 Rynnstone Thunder (aka Finn) is a jumping pony through and through. This super pony has brought me from a very inexperienced rider only jumping 80/90cm all the way to jumping the biggest tracks 135cm in only 2 years. We both only stepped up to the 130cm/ 135cm classes last summer, where Finn tried his absolute best for me whenever he could. We all absolutely adore him and he is only for sale as I am off ponies now. He is extremely careful and does not like to touch a pole.

Although he has jumped top tracks he is equally as happy to step down the heights and jump lower classes. Finn has represented Wales at the Scottish home pony in 2022 and at the Welsh home pony last year. He has qualified for Nationals both years we have had him, placing 5th in the Members Cup final last year. He is a forward ride but easy to shoe, clip, travel etc. Finn is a green passport Connemara pony and has an FEI passport.

Only the best of homes for this superstar. Sensibly priced to sell
Open to any vetting. He is fit and healthy ready for his next jockey.

Based in West Wales with excellent trail facilities. Loads more videos and pictures upon request.

Super forward competition pony with good manners. Always been a delight at stay over shows and anywhere else we’ve been.

My confident 12 year old has had the best time competing on her 80cm and just moved up to 90cm on her since August doing school training each week at Hascombe and Hickstead and jumping NSEA where she came 3rd in the 80cm NSEA Championships out of 220 riders at Addington last year.

We are devastated as she always puts a smile on ours faces and places every time but we have a pony too many unfortunately as I have a little one the 3 is just too much. Never nasty but she is a competition pony so will need a fun competitive jockey.

With her previous owners shes jumped abroad, wons POYs 1.10 Grand Prix 22,23. Shes really such a superstar as she’s stepped down nicely for my daughter too.

Always been a pleasure and shes fit and ready to have a fun summer with her next rider whether it’s BS, NSEA, pony club etc.

No health issues so please don’t let her age put you off.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

1 IN A MILLION MOTHERS DREAM COMPETITION PONY

  • Mothers dream JC competition pony( sort very hard to find)
  • Competed up to 1.20
  • Placed top 8 at Spook in a 100+ class

This is extremely hard to write as Prosseco has been the pony of our dreams taking my daughter from jumping 40cm to competing comfortably at 1m with countless wins and training at 125+ but sadly we just don’t have the time that she deserves anymore.

She is the most incredibly polite and kind hearted pony she will stand for hours untied just to be fussed with and won’t move a muscle unless you ask her to. My young children are constantly around her grooming, leading to the field, giving treats etc. She has an exceptional jump but would excel at anything u asked her to- she just wants to please! I believe she would suit someone wanting to just have fun and do a bit of everything as I think constant jumping bores her.

Over the last year she has made my daughters dreams come true placing top 8 at Spook in a class of more than 100 competitors! She is the most genuine pony and will help her rider out whenever she can, but she is a sensitive soul and needs a gentle rider due to her previous home.

She is a competition pony and can get strong when jumping so for that reason she wouldn’t suit a complete beginner but will happily help out a more novice rider! She trains comfortably around 120 at home- she really is just such an enjoyable and trustworthy pony- she will jump 130 for you one day then have a 5yr old sit bare back untied on her the next!

Never sick or sorry, doesn’t buck, rear, bolt, bite. Good to load, farrier, vet, dentist, clip- she was a little nervy to be caught in the beginning but after she gained our trust she has been absolutely fine! Will hack alone or in company not phased by anything. Passed a 5 stage vetting before she got here, she is completely barefoot as that’s what she prefers.

She is the sort of pony that is very hard to find! Prosseco passed a 5 stage vetting with no significant scarring or any signs of surgery with one of the best vets in the country however it was claimed that she had surgery on her legs but nothing was picked up there is no scarring, it has never affected her performance she has never been lame or sore and we have had the most amazing year with her that any little girl could only dream for!

Sederholm saddle and bridle fitted to her available for separate negotiation. Genuine reason for sale and 10* home ONLY for our special girl and she truly is one in a million!

Please call or text 07535 547702 excellent trial facilities!

Mullaghgloss Rebel, 138 JC Schoolmaster and our pony of a lifetime.

We have owned Rebel for just over 2 years and in that time we have mainly show jumped 70-90cm at Pony BS, Pony Club and NSEA. He has looked after my daughter throughout, always taking her to the fence positively and instilling a confidence in her that will be very hard for the next pony to replicate! She knows he will always help her out where he can and she trusts him implicitly - his first and only motivation is to get his rider to the other side of the fence. On the very rare occasions when they haven't completed a course, it's either due to rider error or equipment failure - he is unfailingly honest and genuine to the core.

Rebel is excellent in open spaces and my daughter hacks him around our farm on her own - I know he will always bring her home safe. While we have concentrated on show jumping, he would make an excellent all rounder - we have done pairs hunter trials, he's taken part in PC camp and he would do a decent dressage test if his jockey was more motivated in this area!

Good to load, shoe, clip, will stand all day for cuddles and grooming sessions, does need some food to catch. He is an absolute saint at stay away shows and perfectly at ease in even the busiest warm up arenas. My daughter can handle him confidently on her own and has done almost from the start. Rebel is not a novice ride, he has power and is responsive but he would never do anything silly or unsafe - if your child is a quiet, confident rider, he will try his heart out for you.

We are searching for a 5 star home for our special boy - he means a lot to many people and we will want to keep in touch! Serious enquiries only please, would prefer calls rather than texts.

My son will have a lesson per week and do pony club activities, so would like something that has come from a similar type of home. He may also do the odd Sj comp and arena eventing, so must be capable of jumping a course of up to 85 cm.

My son is keen, but wouldn't like anything too sharp or too whizzy, so am looking for something that stays in a nice rhythm and has good brakes.

Knowledgable 5* home awaits, with four children who all ride.

Very much hoping to find Mr right soon, so that a partnership can be formed ready for fun summer pony club activities.

Look forward to hearing from you!

May (Hoodwinked) - 147.5cm 14 year old mare

May is a forward going all rounder who is perfect to do in all ways; loads and travels well (trailer or lorry), catch, clip, bath, lunge and shoe.
She is up to date with teeth and all vaccinations.

Showjumping -
This is where she excels - May has jumped up to BS senior discovery, jumping all over the southwest successfully. She has numerous placings up to 1 metre as she is quick against the clock in juniors but can also make the strides in senior classes. She looks after her rider whilst jumping as she is experienced and knows her job. She has competed at Bluechip, Royal Cornwall show and in the Bury Farm bareback challenge.
May has also hunted in her previous home as well ODE’s and WHP, where she has a great conformation and way of going for the RIHS/HOYS working hunter.

She loves cross country and never stops at a fence, she is a bold and brave pony.

Flatwork -
May has 3 lovely, forward paces where she holds a beautiful and consistent collection throughout all her gates. She has quick transitions and is soft in the mouth.

Hacking -
May hacks well alone and in company, is good with traffic and in open spaces.

She is a really lovely mare on the ground and under saddle, she is a forward going competition pony.

Bridal and saddle included.

Looking for a safe and sensible 14.2/15.2 hh gelding (native type or light weight cob preferred) 8 - 15 yrs for hacking and schooling, possibly low level jumping due to having a riding accident last year and then losing my horse of 7 years.

Horse would want for nothing and be kept on large livery yard with excellent facilities including indoor/outdoor/jumping arenas as well as plenty of off road hacking. It is important that horse can be walked through fields on the buckle end as well as enjoying schooling as the winters are long!

Happy to travel within 150 miles of Skipton, North Yorkshire.

Phantom is for sale due to my daughter growing out of her. She's hung on to her for as long as possible!

Phantom (or 'Pants' to her friends) is a much loved family friend. She has done all PC activities and 2 camps.

Phantom has competed up to 65cm and has jumped 85cm at home, with my daughter who is self-confessed not the bravest of riders. She happily does water, ditches, steps etc. She knows lateral work and correct bend, and has competed successfully at dressage and Prix Caprilli.

We are not showing people but Pants has placed at every local show she's entered and could probably do pretty well as she's well put-together and very pretty.

I think she would be suitable as a lead rein pony as nothing phases her and she'll run along next to you as you hold the child's leg and do up-downs etc. She might be too active for a nervous child taking their first steps off-lead-rein as she is forward and responsive - but she's never tanked off and always ridden in snaffle and loose cavesson.

Good to hack, load, shoe (currently shod in front), no vices. I've not actually clipped her as I haven't felt the need but I've run clippers over and she isn't bothered at all. Loads herself and travels perfectly. Does have a couple of very small stable sarcoids which you can't see unless you're looking for them, and don't affect her.

She is a friendly little person and whinnies for us in the field.

Allround competition pony, competed up to 1m unaffiliated showjumping & cross country, also has DCs BE90 in 2017.

Not spooky or silly about fillers, she will jump round a course in a level rhythm.

Brave cross country, she jumps ditches, drops & water, as well as all natural fences.

Beautifully schooled on the flat, with 50 BD points, competed up to medium; all lateral work in place.

Snaffle mouthed in all disciplines.

Hacks alone or in company.

Would also make a fantastic WHP, as she is very correct & moves extremely well. Fully registered New Forest pony so eligible M&M.

A real 'proper' pony, she would not be suited to a novice or a novice family; ideally suited to a knowledgeable home wanting to go out and compete in a variety of disciplines or take part in all pony club activities.

Full history known since 4yo for this much loved pony.

No vices, good to catch and clip, prefers a lorry to travel.
