FYFR first ridden/lead rein pony.

11hh, Reg’d Welsh A, gelding, 14 years old.

Excellent to handle by even the smallest of children, will stand tied up whilst my youngest daughter brushes his hooves!

Happy to be stabled, turns out with a mixed herd, currently lives out 24/7.
Happy to be left alone whilst everyone else goes out!

Doesn’t kick/bite.

Excellent in traffic, never strong or silly, snaffle mouth, definitely (absolutely!) a more woah than go type off the lead rein, loves to plod along, we call him our tortoise pony! Leads perfectly on foot or from another horse, we lead him from our 16.2hh warm blood mare, somehow he manages to keep up!

In a previous home before we bought him he’d been used for pony club rallies/camp, showing etc. We’ve used him for mostly hacking, some local showing and fun rides.
He’s only had 3 previous homes and I know each one, all of them follow his progress and I think that says a lot about him as pony.

We’ve owned Blaze for 2.5 fantastic years, he’s bought our daughter on from a nervous/novice 5 year old who was on the lead rein to a confident, happy rider who’s now ready to progress to a 2nd pony.
He’s the type of pony that doesn’t mess around if his little jockey puts in a kick at the wrong time or has washing line reins, he doesn’t take advantage if they can’t quite get the aids right or if they haven’t yet got full balance in trot and bounce along, the perfect pony to learn on.
My youngest has ridden him on and off since she was 2 years old, a true family pony.

We have absolutely adored our time with him, we thought we’d be able to give him a home for life but sadly my youngest daughter isn’t interested enough and he’s being wasted sat in the field as a lawn mower, I know how hard good ponies are to find, he’s a true gem.

Barefoot, excellent in every way, comes to call.

Does have Cushings but this is managed with .5 of a Prascend tablet a day and a yearly blood test, which was done 3 weeks ago and he’s thriving on his current dose. He doesn’t require any special management for this other than his medication.

Heartbreaking sale of our wonderful little Blaze so please only apply if you can offer him an amazing home.

Based Devon/Cornwall border.

Absolutely stunning 5yo, Gelding with all the potential, confirmation and movement to be a top class show pony with HOYS prospects. However, he also has the scope and temperament to be a BS pony or PC pony.

Bought last year, unbroken, Elton has been backed and produced by a child. He was very easy from day one, and is always snaffle mouthed. He’s been to PC rallies, UA SJing competitions jumping 60-70, XC schooling, hacks alone and in company. Schools nicely on the flat.

Elton is a stunning pony with a great temperament and attitude to life. He’s been produced slowly and is now ready for a small child to continue his education and have so much fun on. He isn’t an established pony yet die to age but is safe and genuine.

100% to trim, catch, box and hack.

Please WhatsApp “Elton” for videos.

10.2hh Dartmoor Hill Pony

5 years old, owned from a foal. She has been worth her weight in gold as a companion.

We would love to see her now move on to have a job of her own, preferably as a lead rein pony or driving etc.

She is well handled and never been spoilt but otherwise is a blank canvas.

Fully vaccinated & feet regularly trimmed.

Lives in or out happily.

Beautiful 2009 Chesnut gelding standing at a full up 13hh. This gorgeous boy is a parents dream.

He has three gorgeous flashy, floaty and expressive paces, has shown successfully and moves beautifully. Snaffle mouthed, Joey offers a lovely ride on the flat, he’s kind and forgiving and he’s happy to teach a novice the ropes, or step up a gear for a more able and confident jockey.

Joey jumps cross country and showjumps, we have jumped him up to 90cm, he’s scopey and enjoys it, but again would be happy to step down and trot over small fences with a wobbly jockey, Joey has the perfect canter to learn on, and he’s kind under saddle and on the ground.

He will stand for hours to be groomed, likes children and just wants to please, he will hack on the buckle alone & with others, isn’t bothered by tractors, machinery, heavy traffic, open spaces etc, brilliant with farm animals / dogs etc. this super lad offers so much experience, a hard to find pony that’s been there, done it and has the t shirt.

He’s done loads of riding club, low level shows, showjumping, etc. a stand out from the crowd flashy lad that offers a super safe ride. Ideal family pony. Open to any vet or trainer

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Frank is only available due to being totally wasted with me.

A real leg in each corner type, will take a small adult and not look out of place.

He was broken to ride last year and is going nicely on lead rein, has been off lead rein but we had intended for him to be a lead rein pony (before my eldest gave up riding) so that’s what we focused on. He loves to hack and is good in open spaces. Has a lovely jump on him and with a little work would be a fantastic 122cm M&M WHP / Junior M&M WHP.

Has been successfully shown Inhand in youngstock classes. Frank is good to clip, catch, load, shoe etc.

He is also broken to drive but hasn’t been in harness for a couple of months now.

Absolutely Beautiful Top Class 12hh First Ridden Show Pony!

Dolly was bought last year for our daughters with the hope of her maturing to be a top class 12.2 however we felt she needed another year to mature before braking her and it certainly paid off however unfortunately Dolly is definitely a 12hh First Ridden!

Dolly has recently been broken, she has the most fabulous temperament and attitude!

Dolly spent 8 weeks away being professionally broken, she’s light in her mouth and walk, trot and cantering on both reins and now ready for someone to school her on and add the finish touches!

Over the past year she has become a proper family pet, she’s first to come to the gate when she hears my daughters on the yard and is just a lovely pony to have around!

Handled daily by children, she’s good to lead groom, rug , handle, tack up etc! My daughter tacks her up, jumps on and hacks her on her own!! Brilliant with farm traffic, cars, dogs sheep, scooters bikes! She has all the bits to make her a child’s best friend as well as top class show pony!

The Hunt met at the yard a few times over the winter and Dolly will stand quietly in her stable watching even when they set off she remains calm!

I can honestly say she’s not put a foot out of line, no bucks/rears, speeding off etc! She’s taken it all in her stride and trusts her rider!

Since being home Dolly has been hacking, and in the school! My daughter has been using her to check the sheep whilst lambing, and over the Easter holidays has enjoyed playing with her in the school and out on the common! (50 acres of open grass land)

Dolly will be starting pony club this week, however we would really love to find her own little jockey as both my children and too old to compete in FR and she is far to good just to be a hacking pony/pet!

Dolly is absolutely fabulous and by far one of the easiest sweetest pony’s we have ever had however she has only just been broken and not rushed so is not set up and ready to go so please no novices!

Really beautiful pony. He is as kind hearted as he is lovely to look at. He has taken my son to his first competitions - dressage, clear round & show-jumping. Has done cross-country schooling, pony camp, barrel racing, beach ride, hacking. A child's best friend & happy to be groomed & fussed over all day.

Bingo loves jumping & has taken my very nervous, very novice son over jumps. Not fizzy or fast but steadily takes him into a jump while he clings on as a passenger. He is an absolute lamb to handle on the ground & lead & also leads from another horse or pony. Really affectionate & chatty to humans.

No problems loading (lorry or trailer) & fine shoeing & clipping. Calm at competitions & not clingy to his friends or travelling companion.

He can be left for weeks/months & then just ridden. He has had 7 months off over the winter due to no rider & now being lightly ridden by my 65 yr old friend.

Very sad sale after 4 years with us due to my son giving up riding

Rocky - Stunning 13h 8yo Gelding. Unusual Blagdon colour, good conformation. Lots of hair and feather so top show potential!

Lovely on the ground - friendly, affectionate and playful. Good to handle.

Has done more hacking than school work so green in the school. More whoa than go, he needs a rider to use their legs and work on getting him more responsive. Not naughty and never nasty - just green. Not spooky or sharp either. He walks, trots, canters and pops a jump so a nice summer project for someone to bring on.

Great to hack, will take the lead or follow and good in traffic. Safe in open spaces and will canter up the fields without getting fizzy. Really willing and honest.

Lots of showing potential but would also make a smart happy hacker/allrounder too.

Sensible ride and will be suitable for a novice once he’s got going in the school a bit more as at the moment, he just needs someone to use leg and give directions. Anyone can hack him!

Price will increase with the more schooling we do.

Diva - Beautiful 13h Registered Welsh Section C Mare. 7 years old.

Lovely temperament and good to handle. Friendly and easy enough for the children to handle.

Good on lead rein - doesn’t mind the bouncy riders and will follow you around all day.

Nicely schooled off lead, more whoa than go and needs leg to keep her going although she does listen and will step up for the competent kids. Not nappy, just steady until you get her going! Flashy movement and holds herself lovely with a real ‘look at me’ presence so could be produced for more of a show home.

Loves to jump - bold and brave over fillers, XC, lots of scope. Has had a few show outings last summer.

Good to hack and in traffic.

A lovely allrounder - would make a super smart Pony Club or show pony but equally as happy playing around at home and going for a hack.

She is a Welsh mare so can have her own opinions and can take time to settle into a routine so would prefer a horsey family over a novice one.

Suitable for most riders, lead rein, first or second pony.

Phantom is for sale due to my daughter growing out of her. She's hung on to her for as long as possible!

Phantom (or 'Pants' to her friends) is a much loved family friend. She has done all PC activities and 2 camps.

Phantom has competed up to 65cm and has jumped 85cm at home, with my daughter who is self-confessed not the bravest of riders. She happily does water, ditches, steps etc. She knows lateral work and correct bend, and has competed successfully at dressage and Prix Caprilli.

We are not showing people but Pants has placed at every local show she's entered and could probably do pretty well as she's well put-together and very pretty.

I think she would be suitable as a lead rein pony as nothing phases her and she'll run along next to you as you hold the child's leg and do up-downs etc. She might be too active for a nervous child taking their first steps off-lead-rein as she is forward and responsive - but she's never tanked off and always ridden in snaffle and loose cavesson.

Good to hack, load, shoe (currently shod in front), no vices. I've not actually clipped her as I haven't felt the need but I've run clippers over and she isn't bothered at all. Loads herself and travels perfectly. Does have a couple of very small stable sarcoids which you can't see unless you're looking for them, and don't affect her.

She is a friendly little person and whinnies for us in the field.

She is totally handled by children both at home & at shows. She is good to load, travel, clip, farrier etc & is up to date with everything.

Lives off fresh air & goes out in a mixed herd everyday.

We are in contact with previous owners & we would like this to continue into her new home.

Only for sale due to a change of direction.

Ozzie is 12hh mini cob who is the kindest little pony you could meet

He is exceptionally well behaved on the ground, stands to be groomed, clipped, bathed, excellent with farrier, dentist, saddle fitter.

Ozzie is the perfect happy hacker, he takes my daughter on 60mph roads, country lanes, in fields cantering, more whoa than go but nice and responsive off the leg when needed with a good push, he would make the perfect lead rein or first ridden as he prefers the steadier life and loves attention and cuddles from little people

We bought Ozzie from the field as a little project for my daughter who is a fab little rider she's really worked hard to get him going to well and he's wanted for nothing in the time we've had him

Not ridden for 8 months she jumped on him bare back and off they went and we've now got him going lovely

He's been wormed, vaccination up to date, farrier, dentist, back check the lot, also had his mite injections to eliminate any leg mites

He is a green in the school but not yet refused anything we've asked and learning more by the day just at a steady pace. Fast is not Ozzie's pace he's a steady Eddie.

Ozzie can be turned out with mares and geldings, plods around the yard with children, absolutely perfect with dogs. Loves a pub ride! He's a favourite in the village.

Ozzie has been shown in hand by a 10yr and was foot perfect. Coming away with a 2nd place in part bred and 5th place is a massive class for best condition on his first show with lovely comments from judges

His feet were very long and overgrown when we got him and although much better now will still need a good farrier to keep trimming them and getting them back to a good length.

He will only go to the home I think it perfect for him we are in not rush to sell him and he will keep going with us to shows and his schooling until he finds his little person to love him.

Loads of videos/photos of him available

He comes with his full wardrobe, new bridle, saddle, new saddle pads and rugs included two new ones I've bought him

Has taught a complete novice to ride but not unfortunately has been outgrown

Loves to jump and hack!

Hasn’t done much schooling but is fabulous with children letting them vault onto him and play around without a care in the world.

Happy go lucky chap with bags of love to give to his new jockey

He has had a bout of laminitis in the past so is shod in front with normal shoes (not remedial or bar shoes) and managed with strip grazing and exercise

Super little pony looking for his new best friend and new home

Easy and kind, loves children and is simple to manage and handle - little Tommy has been ridden and used by young children and is very kind and simple to manage.

He is easy for them to brush and groom, very gentle to lead around and he stands quietly when he is tied on the yard. Tommy has done plenty of hacking and has done a couple of our little shows with a novice.

He is a little star!

Rising 6yo, reg part bred sec A mare approx 12hds.

Kitty is a very sweet kind little pony who is willing to please. Due to her age she is still a little green but has a lovely kind nature.

Ideal leadrein/2nd pony in the making. She may well make a super 1st pony in time. She certainly has the temperament for it she just needs time to mature.

She's a fun little pony a real mothers dream/PC allrounder.

Kitty has lovely paces good enough for the showring. She would make a top cradle stakes pony as she is showing a super genuine technique over a fence, snaffle mouthed, straightforward and bold.

Experienced home sort for this smashing little pony in the making. Good to hack, handle, load, farrier etc.

Welsh/Shropshire border. Price will increase as her education improves.

Super 13h pony. Looks after the most novice / nervous rider but can also step up and be a super fun pony too.

8yrs old. He has been hacked in open spaces, traffic, good with farm machinery, animals and dogs. He’s good to catch, box, clip, farrier.

Taught child to jump and win her first sj competition on lead rein, jumped up to 70 off. He’s an absolute sweetheart to handle and have around. His only quirk is he might pull you to a bucket if it looks like it might have some leftovers in it!

My 9yr olds have hacked him in traffic and open spaces and I trust him completely. Super family best friend.

Was taken in part x after being sadly outgrown after 2 happy years.

***** Tack included in price saddle is a Caveletti fitted to George less than a year ago. Reduced as new larger pony purchased. ****

12.3 Dark Bay Gelding Fell x Cob 10 Years Old. His dad was a traditional coloured cob from the Hermits stud which is known for breeding horses with excellent temperaments.

George is good to hack alone and in company. He has been to dressage, showjumping, farm rides, the gallops and always behaves impeccably with a group of horses or on his own.

He would suit a first pony home or a small adult wanting to have safe fun.

He is happy to be pampered all day he is good to clip, load and with the farrier.

He has been my daughter’s first pony and will be sadly missed. She has outgrown him and needs to move on to the next size. Lots of videos and photos of him.

Leather saddle and bridle available by separate negotiation.
