Handsome Part Bred Connemara for Project / Happy Hacker / Companion

  • 14.2 hands (LHC)
  • Easy to handle
  • Looking for a new home as a project, companion or hacking pony

Our handsome Silvo was bought in good faith in July 2017 as a talented jumping pony (he was competing 1.10m) for my 12 year old daughter, but shortly after purchase it was discovered he has a sacroiliac joint condition. Bone scans have shown this.

Sadly he now needs a new home as a project, companion (price would be lowered if he went to a companion home) or hacking pony – he is fully sound – BUT if he was to undergo a personalized treatment programme of physio he could reach his full potential and return to his previous level of work, or higher. For this an experienced, confident rider would be required to bring him back to work slowly with an intensive physiotherapy and ridden program of around 6-8 months, therefore he could also be a project. A sample program of work can be provided. I just don’t have the time to take this on.

Silvo is easy to handle, does not bite or kick and loads easily. He is also good with the farrier. He hacks out alone and in company, but can be a little spooky.

He currently lives out in a small herd but he is better suited to living with only one or two others as he can be dominant. He can live in or out.

He is a sensitive, but under-confident pony who has responded incredibly to ‘join up’ and liberty training with my daughter, as once he trusts someone, he bonds with them quickly and gives his heart to them.

They have a very strong connection and it will be a very sad sale so home is more important than price. Lunge work, join up and ridden, flat and jump work videos available on request.

He is a very clever chap who is quick to learn so no novices or timewasters please.

Up to date with vaccinations / worming / teeth / shoeing

Open to offers. Thank you.

April is a 3 year old Connemara mare with the most amazing and willing temperament, she has great potential and if she was 3/4 inches taller she wouldn't be for sale.

Coolagh April has a superb pedigree of champions including BANKS TIMBER, Ard Conneely, Oxenholm Marble JR, Grange Surf Sparrow & Gun Smoke making her a great addition as a broodmare although it would be a shame if April wasn't competed.

She has lovely paces and a super trot. she has been lightly schooled over a fence and looks to have a great technique and so could be brought forward as a potential worker.

April has the good looks to be platted and go in platted classes but also has great conformation and limbs and so would be a contender in any Connie flat ridden or in-hand class.

She is going to be a truly versatile pony and as mentioned if she had grown just a little taller she'd be staying here.

**BEWARE**

BOGUS EMAILS & BUYERS!

Ref #: 22412

Increasing numbers of internet advertisers are receiving emails from bogus buyers, attempting to scam sellers

This tactic is a worldwide problem; however it would appear to be on the rise in the equine industry, targeting everything from horses and ponies for sale, to horseboxes, trailers and tack

**EXAMPLE SCAM ALERT**

We've been informed of a new email scam doing the rounds. This time the scam email in commonly coming from ‘Travis Bennett’ & 'Cynthia PT', asking a list of questions & offering to transfer a deposit and payment for shipping. Please ignore this email and if you have time report it to Action Fraud, for more details click HERE

In another instance the scammer will contact you via email asking if your horse is still for sale, this will be followed by an email containing 23 questions as shown on the picture on the left. Please do not respond to this email. Sorry for any inconvenience caused and rest assured we are doing our best to combat this.

Another scam which is particularly common, is  when theadvertiser is contacted about an item, asking for more images, and then once the images have been received the bogus buyer will agree to send a cheque for the full amount.  At this point the seller is asked to email their full contact details to enable the buyer to send payment. The seller is then contacted again saying that the cost of shipping has accidently been included on the cheque, and could the seller forward the cost of shipment onto a courier, which is also bogus

These scams can vary, however emails are often written in broken English and written in an over friendly style.  We urge HorseQuest customers to respond to email enquiries with caution. If something sounds too good to be true, it often is!

If you think you’ve been scammed then we strongly recommend that you contact the police
