BEAUTIFUL DARTMOOR MARE

11.2hh Dark Bay registered Dartmoor mare, 9 years (born May 2000)

This stunning pony has been a major part of our lives for almost 3 years now, and a new 5** home is now sought for her as she is hopelessly outgrown 

We bought her in 2006 from a showing home where she was a prolific winner. We were looking for a pony  for my daughter (then 8 years old) to take her to the next level in her riding. The pony had to be well trained, forward going but safe, and safe to handle - and she has never disappointed

She has done everything we have asked of her and so much more. She has hacked out in company across large open fields, has seen hounds, isn't bothered by the heaviest of traffic - often taking the lead when accompanying a young or nervous horse. She will jump clear around a course of small jumps - although still a little green as this has never been her jockey's favourite pastime !!

She was turned away last winter due to my daughter's unreasonable growth spurt (she is now 5'4" and 8 stones) and now needs bringing back into work and schooling re-established. She is lunged regularly, but lack of suitable jockey means that she is unable to do more than that. My daughter is far too big for her now (see additional photo) and I don't want the pony to get too used to having a bigger person on her back

She has been genuinely snaffle mouthed while with us - however at present she can be strong with a small child (due to lack of work)

She is an outstanding pony with a huge future ahead - County standard - and once back in work and re-established, an excellent FR prospect once again

I have been totally honest - she does need bringing back into work and some reschooling - but this wont take much to do. She is a fabulous pony, who I had always intended to keep forever (for future grandchildren) but she is far too good to do nothing for years to come

Absolutely stunning little chap, to make a very nice M&M LR/FR PC pony

Romeo has done all pony club activities with 6 year old on the lead rein, he has been lightly but successfully shown as a yearling and 3 year old in Hand including 2nd Devon County show and other local wins

He was shown lightly last year under saddle, gaining to 2nd places at a Dartmoor Pony Breed Society show in an NPS qualifier, also qualified for the SWPA M&M LR champs and a few other local wins in the Lead Rein classes

He was broken off the lead rein by small adult when he was 5 and his flat work was very good, so would equally make a lovely Novice ridden Dartmoor with a slightly older jockey, but still a bit green in his canter transitions
