4 yr old black Fell gelding
Recently broken and now being ridden on, Josh is an
absolute delight. Handsome, and beautifully bred (both parents enjoyed
considerable success in the show ring), with excellent conformation and
super movement, he shows great promise for the future.
He has a remarkably laid back approach to life, and was
very straightforward to break. This ease of manner, combined with his
enthusiasm for being worked, whether in the school or hacking out, makes him
a lovely pony both to ride and to have around
Not only is he very good with people, but at home he
has been an invaluable companion to both mares and stallions
Although he will be a novice under saddle, he was
clearly bred to show, has already developed a well balanced trot and, as he
was shown successfully in hand, he’s no stranger to the show ring
His temperament is such that he will make a lovely
First Ridden pony, as well as doing well in Open classes
He could well fit into many other pony scenarios (he
ticks all the boxes, for instance, as a driving pony), but his owners would
be keen to watch his progress in the show ring, so in a perfect world would
prefer to find a showing home for him
Josh was broken by Claire and Charlotte Ward at
Goatlake at Barons Wood, and Claire will happily talk to any prospective
purchaser (01363 884244). However, he has now returned home and can be seen
at the Lydvale Stud in Lewdown, Devon
