SHOWING MASTER CLASS 2009 SIDE - SADDLE DAY

THIS IS A UNIQUE DAY FOR ALL THOSE WHO FANCY TRYING
SIDE SADDLE!
I will cover a bit of history, general information
and safety on the side saddle
The type of horse, fitting how to mount and
dismount position and getting started
Correct dress for classes, classes & show classes
you can compete in
Information on the Side Saddle Association
Side saddles are available can be used here so
numbers are limited to eight per day and each session costs £95
Overnight stabling in a fully covered yard is
available at £30 per night from Friday, and spectators are welcome at
£25 each. Bed and Breakfast can be booked locally, and we will provide a
pick-up & drop-off service for you!
Facilities include an Olympic size outdoor school
and an indoor school
Each day runs from 9.30am - 4.30pm with tea and
coffee provided
Lunch is available on both days @ £5 per person,
but must be paid for in advance, or you are welcome to bring your own
We start at 10,am and will finish approx 4pm!
Discuss matters arising from the day’s session
You will leave with goodie bags and questions are

SHOWING MASTER CLASS 2009
14-15th MARCH
AT DURFOLD FARM,
PLAISTOW ROAD, DUNSFOLD, SURREY. GU8 4PQ |

Get a head start for HOYS 2009 or just for the
start of the show season. My training days are aimed at riders of all
levels focussing on cobs, coloureds, hunters and riding horses. You
will learn everything you need to know about showing, and it will give
you a chance to get the best out of your horse and have a go at
winning!
Areas to be covered will include tack and turnout,
ring craft, feeding, clipping, in hand presentation and what the judges
look for. All horses and riders will be individually assessed and the
series culminates with a mock showing class judged by an independent
judge. This will give you the chance to put everything you've learnt
into practice
It will be an intense course packed with
information, but at the same time, enjoyable. Everyone is welcome,
regardless of how much experience you and your horses have. Whether you
have a horse that*s never been in the ring before, or you just want to
improve on this season's performances, you'll learn how to make the most
of what you've got
Numbers are limited to eight per day and each

We start at 9.30 and topics are as follows;-
Horses will be assessed individually for their
conformation; type, movement and I will recommend which classes you can
enter. Tack, general presentation and trimming will be discussed
and I will recommend ways to improve all of these. To follow, group
lessons. These will cover ring tactics, how to get the best vantage and
how to cope with others in the ring. Discuss matters arising from the
day’s session
The following day will start with group lessons,
these will cover the individual show, the line up and the steward’s role
in the ring. You will then prepare your horse for the mock showing
class, under supervision. Please bring with you grooming kits and any
products you already use on your horse.
Then a mock showing class will take place. You will
need to bring all your showing kit! Each horse will be marked by an
independent judge on turnout, riding, individual show, in hand and will
be given marks for overall presentation. Awards will be presented by
the judge, which marks the end of the workshop. All will leave with
goodie bags questions are welcome from all during the clinic.

COLOURED MASTER CLASS WORKSHOP
26th -27th April
AT DURFOLD FARM,

Get a head start for the coloured qualifying
classes for the RIHS & HOYS 2009 or just for the coming show season. My
training Master Class days are aimed at riders of all levels focussing
on all coloured classes and types of horses and ponies
You will learn everything you need to know about
showing and producing your horse, including how to use products to get
the best appearance, trimming and keeping those hairy ones clean!
Quarter marks, correct tack, turnout, ring craft, feeding, in hand
presentation and what the judges look for and how to ride an individual
show will also be covered. Each horse and rider will be individually
assessed and the series culminates with a mock showing class judged by
an independent judge. This will give you the chance to put everything
you've learnt into practice and be marked for it! Classes, categories
and rules will be explained. ! will even sort out your grooms what to
wear etc!!

He is a T.B. and I brought him out of training to show
as a small riding horse and to do the R O R classes, but guess what I don't
