15hh Skewbald Middleweight Cob Gelding, 13 years
old

Fin is a lovely, genuine cob. He is very reliable
and safe to ride and is also an extremely comfortable ride. He is always
happy to go at the pace the rider wants and although lovely and willing
he is steady in all his paces including canter. His canter is very easy
to sit to and he is not strong in the slightest
Fin has come from a private home to be sold through
us. Fin has a lovely character and is a joy to have on the yard.
He was excellent to clip although a little ticklish
around his belly. He stands quietly to be washed off with the horse and
is great with the farrier. At the moment he lives out every other night
and is in a stable 3 nights a week just because it is so wet and muddy
at the moment. Fin is always happy to come in from the field and is
quiet and settled in his stable
We hack him out about 4 times a week but he would
be equally as happy and mannered if he was only ridden at the weekends.
Fin hacks out in all environments. He is totally
non competitive in company and is also very happy hacking out on his
own.
Very importantly Fin is excellent in all traffic
and he has been consistently reliable and non spooky. He also works well
in the school and is happy to lunge
Fin would make a super family horse. All members of
the family would be safe with him and he is upto weight. He would also
give the one horse owner years of fun and would build and instill
confidence.

16hh heavyweight Cob bay gelding, 6 years old

Quick is a super stamp of heavyweight cob. He has a
lovely, easy temperament
Always interested in his surroundings and alert
He is a willing easy ride, although not quick as
his name suggests! I have known this horse for around 2 years and he
originally came from France. He is a Normany Cob.
Quick is upto almost any weight but isn't wide to
ride or heavy in his paces. He is tuned into his rider and looks to
please. He has been hacked out extensively in all environments and has
consistently shown himself to be excellent in all traffic and totally
non competitive when being ridden out with other horses. He enjoys being
in work and is always happy to be caught and brought in from the field.
He is happy to take lead file and is equally happy
to be behind. He is also happy hacking out on his own. His paces are
rythmic and even. He steps upto canter and comes down to trot
immediately he is asked to. Occasionally he can have a look at something
scary out hacking but he is always safe and reliable with it.
Over the last two years he has matured beautifully
into his frame and is a very handsome chap.
He is turned out with both mares and gelding and is
totally non aggressive with the others. He stands quietly to be tacked
up and handled and always waits patiently for his rider to mount and get
organised.
He is super with the farrier and was excellent to
be clipped.

15.3hh Irish Draught x Tb
bright bay gelding, 11 years old

Toby is a stunning example of a
Irish Draught x TB. He has a super personality, always interested in
what is going on and just loves people and attention
He is a pleasure to have on the
yard and although he looks very handsome in his pictures I think he is
better looking in the flesh. I have found, over the years, that often
good looking horses can be a bit of a handful but this is definately not
the case with Toby
He is always happy to be caught
and brought in from the field. He is out with both mares and geldings
and is always happy to get on with the others and never causes a fuss.
He is excellent to lead and is never excitable to handle
We have hacked him out in all
environments and he consistently shows himself to be mannered and
obedient to his rider. He is not a spooky or sharp horse although he is
always alert and interested in his surroundings. Toby is very safe and
reliable in traffic including heavy traffic and lorries. He doesn't get
excited in open spaces and is happy to take lead file or be beside or
behind other horses
Toby enjoys being around people
and always has a cheerful and alert expression. He is an easy, willing
ride without being strong or unpredictable. He is naturally uphill and
his paces reflect this
I am sure he has done school
work but we have just hacked him out daily and he is a really good boy.
He is a good doer and we just feed him hay. He doesn't need hard feed
He is good with the farrier and
with the hose. I haven't clipped him because he came to me with a full
clip and doesn't need to be clipped yet. Although I am happy to put the
clippers on him if anyone requests

Maisie has a truly endearing temperament. She is
quiet and polite and looks to please.
She is an exceptionally easy mare to handle in all
respects. She is easy to catch from the field and lead in, being both
happy out with mares and geldings. She is non aggressive in all
respects.
She stands quietly to be washed with the hose and
any member of the family can lead her and handle her.
Maisie stands quietly to be tacked up and always is
still and patient to be mounted. She knows her job and is fantastic in
all environments. She is excellent in traffic including big lorries and
the unusual sights that are often encountered out hacking. Maisie is
safe and reliable to ride. She is tuned into her rider and always obeys
the aids.
There is nothing strong about Maisie, she never
gets anxious or stressed. She is happy hacking on her own but is equally
as happy in company and never gets competitive when she is behind or
heading for home.
She is a happy and willing ride and she has lovely,
even rhythmic paces. She steps upto canter and is very balanced and
comes down to trot immediately she feels the rider wants to.
She was great to clip and is super with the
farrier. She never pulls a face and is extremely quiet in the stable but
is happy also living out.

Bobby is a lovely stamp of cob – Up to weight and a
real gentle boy. He has an endearing nature and the whole family can
handle him.
He gives an extremely mature ride for his age.
Totally non-spooky. Fantastic in all traffic including lorries and the
unusual. He never gets excited or worried. He happily hacks out with
other and never gets competitive when he is behind. He is tuned into his
rider and is happy riding beside another horse. He doesn't speed up on
his way home and really does take everything in his stride
Bobby is not phased in the slightest by nervous
riders and dutifully does his job without question. He gives a feeling
of complete safety and reliability without being lazy or a plod
Bobby has very easy, comfortable paces. He is light
in the hand and will always comply to his riders wishes. He is not wide
to ride and stands like a rock to be mounted. He will happily take lead
file and he also hacks out with confidence on his own
He was great to clip and very good to travel. He
had his first set of shoes on this week and was quite nervous of the
farrier. In time this will definitely improve. He will go barefoot. He
never gets footsore even with lots of hacking over uneven terrain. This
is why he hasn't been shod until now.

Passport
Charlie is a super stamp of Cob. He has a leg at
each corner and is a very solid chap. Very well put together with a very
endearing look about him. If you look closely at his head shot you will
see that he is missing the top of his right ear which definitely adds to
his character. I have no idea how he lost it though
Although Charlie is young he gives a very mature,
safe, reliable ride. Which I find totally remarkable and it is very easy
to forget his age. He is fantastic in traffic, happy to take lead file,
he is totally non spooky, he really does just take everything in his
stride. Nothing phases this horse when ridden.
He has lovely easy paces and is tuned into his
rider. He steps upto canter when asked and is very balanced and rhythmic
in all his paces. He carries himself beautifully and never leans on his
riders' hands. Immediately he senses the rider wants him to come down a
transition then he obliges without question or hesitation.
He can sometimes give you a wary look when he is
being handled on the ground and this is the only time he reminds you
that he is young.
He is very quiet to handle, there is nothing sharp
about Charlie and all he really wants is to trust and have an easy life.
He is happy to live out and is totally non aggressive with other horses.
When he is in a stable he is content and very quiet. Charlie is never
demanding. He is a real sweetie.
He was really good to clip and great with the
farrier. He travels very quietly and calmly.

ZIGGY
14.2hh Connemara Gelding Dapple Grey, 9
years old
Ziggy has got a lovely, easy temperament. He is
not demanding in anyway
He is a kind horse and always happy to see
people
Ziggy has lovely clean limbs, excellent feet
and is really well put together
He is a poppet to handle, being very compliant
and reliable on the ground. He is happy to live out but is also
content in a stable
He stands quietly to be mounted and loves his
hacking. He is very good in traffic and copes with scary objects and
sounds very well. Although he can occasionally have his spooky days
Ziggy may have a look at something but it is
always in a very sensible way. There is never any jumping to the
side or backing up or spinning round
He is a naturally forward and willing horse
and is even and rythmic in his paces. Ziggy never jogs and has a
lovely uphill and balanced canter
Ziggy was originally on the Safecobs site but I
have decided to reduce his price and put him on this site because as
he has got fitter he has shown that he prefers to be in the front.
When he is behind on occasions he can get strong. It is important to
note that Ziggy always has four feet on the ground but he is a more
sensitive ride so would suit a confident rider that likes this type
of ride.
He is confident and happy hacking out on his
own and also very relaxed hacking out in company. He will go in
front, beside or behind.
He is excellent with the farrier and was
exceptionally good to clip. He loads and travels well.

ANGEL
15 hand lightweight mare, chestnut with flaxen
mane, 9 years old
Angel is a quiet, reserved little mare. She is
quite self contained and is no trouble in the field with both mares
and geldings. She is at present out in a mixed herd.
We have been riding Angel for nearly 4 months
and she has improved in all respects.
She is easy and mannered to handle and comes
quietly in from the field. She is happy in her stable and never
causes a fuss even when the others have been turned out and she is
the only one left in the yard.
She is both non spooky and non competitive and
quietly listens to her rider. Angel is not strong and never gets
fizzy in company whether she is in lead file or behind. She is well
balanced in all her paces and has an easy balanced uphill canter.
She is not good with large vehicles including
lorries and tractors so she either needs a home where she rides
straight out onto bridleways with limited road work or a home where
there are alot of lorries and tractors coming in and out of the yard
so she can get used to them and 'make friends with them'. It is
important to note that she is absolutely fine with cars and vans.
She was excellent with the farrier and great to
be washed off with the hose. I did sedate her to clip her because
this worried her and I prefer them to be relaxed rather than use any
other method.

BILLY
14.2 coloured gelding, 8
years old, Middleweight cob, Passport
Billy is a beautifully
marked tri coloured cob gelding. Without a doubt he has the quietest
temperament I have ever come across in a cob.
Absolutely anyone can handle
this little horse. He is totally safe for non horsey people to
handle or even children. Billy is a very quiet, content little soul.
Billy is not phased by
anything out hacking. He is the most reliable, non spooky and non
competitive little horse. He is not worried by ANY traffic including
lorries and all the unusual things that you come across out hacking.
I am sure he would hack down Gatwick runway and not be phased!
Billy has lovely, easy paces
although he does benefit from a rider that can ride forward because
he is naturally laid back..
He will take lead file out
hacking and will also go behind and he never gets stressed if the
horse is out in front.
He stands like a rock to be
mounted and waits for his rider to get organised. He steps up to
canter when asked but comes down all his transitions immediately.
There is nothing strong about Billy.
He is the easiest horse to
catch, great with the farrier, loads in a box or a trailer and is
excellent to clip.
