Show Jumping: £250 approx notional, nearly £400 actual qualified NC Regionals 2009 jumping double clear Fox. He loves derbys too and will jump open water from any angle!

Hunting: Sting has been out a few times locally and we had a fantastic full day visiting the Worcestershire jumping their big  hedges and timber - he will cross any country and look smart doing it with manners to burn

Cross country: We have done a couple of hunter trials, he is bold and jumps ditches, banks, water etc. I would expect him to go straight in at pre-novice eventing

Dressage: not my favourite but he is a light responsive ride and an 8stone 5'2 friend has enjoyed schooling him and he will collect, lengthen and do lateral work in a snaffle with no whip or spurs - Would easily affiliate tomorrow

Sting gave me back my confidence after a few nasty falls, was the first horse I rode after an op on my spine and again after breaking my ankle - taking me double clear to qualify for both the 1.05m and 1.20m Scope Classic only 2wks after coming out of plaster!! My younger brother used him to escort a non riding girlfriend on a beach ride, my older brother sat on him for the first time having not ridden for 5yrs and jumped 1.20m in competition

Although a big strong horse who can carry a man he is easily managed by a small person - Needless to say he is good to clip, box, shoe, travel in lorry or trailer and hack out alone or in company

He is capable of going to HOYS as a worker, going up the grades Show Jumping or Eventing, or making an elite Hunter

This is a sad sale due solely to my financial situation, I have owned him since he was 3yrs old. It is hard to put a value on Sting as to the right person he is priceless

‘George’ started his career late and wasn’t broken until April of his 4yr old year

He competed at 3 county shows – winning his small hunter classes at the 1st two and the hunter championship at one

He then went onto Dublin Horse Show and stood 3rd (below two much older and more experienced horses) in the small riding horse class - After that he was thrown out for a while to mature

Since being brought back in in Feb this year he started to jump

His 1st event was a young event horse class which he completed, jumping everything asked with maturity – water, ditches, dykes etc

He has since competed in 5 pre novice events and has been placed in the top 10 at the last 3

He is totally faultless XC and has only had 1 pole down in all of the show-jumping rounds to date - (it was raining and he slipped into it!) 

He has also competed in unaffiliated show jumping up to 1.10m, consistently jumping double clears, and will be registered in the next few weeks

George also did a working hunter class, which he won and then went onto win the championship – beating much bigger and older horses

‘George’ is a serious competition prospect with a great attitude towards his work

He has scope to burn and he will go far in eventing or showjumping as not only is he careful but brave too – and tries his best over everything

He has a brain that belies his age and ability that belies his height

This is a very sad sale of a much loved character and he is only for sale as we have no time to compete him and do him any justice
