Goatlake at Barons Farm is a superb family run yard
offering a comprehensive service to owners of ponies of all types
Goatlake provides pony owners with a unique
service with outstanding facilities (see below). Ponies of all types are
found or sold as appropriate. They are broken or schooled, can be produced
for the show ring & children are offered one-to-one riding lessons, either
on their own or the yard's ponies.
Ill health led to Uppacott
Stud discontinuing its breeding programme in 2005, but of the twenty
Uppacott Dartmoors bred between 1998 (when it all began) and 2002, and so
now old enough to be shown under saddle, no fewer than six have qualified
(for eleven classes) at HOYS in the past three years, and five of those were
broken at Goatlake
No other prefix can come
anywhere near this proportion of success – possibly in any breed!
Another seven Uppacott
Dartmoors were born post 2002, and just a very few of these youngstock are
still available

GOATLAKE
AT BARON FARM'S excellent
staff provide an efficient & friendly service that produces top quality winners in all
spheres.
Experienced riders in residence produce
& compete the Stud's home-bred & owned ponies. They also provide training for
those clients who would like their pony to be backed or trained for further education,
tuition & training for riders, show production & much more.
The Stud also has to offer a
selection of youngstock & ridden ponies for sale, which can be viewed any time by
arrangement.

Anna was successfully shown in hand, first as a
yearling and again in 2006, when she won Novice Brood Mare Championships at
both NPS Area 24 and Wincanton, and was also Reserve at the NPS Summer
Champs
Subsequently broken, she’s been with us all season and
is now being ridden on and hacked out
She’s a thoroughly nice person, easy to do in all
respects, and would do well under saddle in the show ring at county level -
She would also be a good buy as a brood mare

This beautifully bred seven year old, out of a previous
HOYS Champion Riding Pony of the Year, is a very special pony
His conformation and his way of going are impressive
enough for him to have qualified for RIHS and to have been placed 8th at
HOYS in 2007
There’s undoubtedly a lot more success still to come,
but above all he’s totally safe and is the easiest of rides for the smallest
of children - We have honestly never known him to put a foot wrong
Beautifully schooled, well mannered, and easy to do in
all respects, he will make a super riding pony for a young rider who wants
to do well, although he’ll never make too many demands on the family -
except to be loved!
