- A serious contender for sport with an old head on young shoulders and the most genuine and trainable nature
16hh 4yo Irish Sports Horse type gelding. No breeding recorded. A serious contender for sport or hunting with an old head on young shoulders and the most genuine and trainable nature. Talented enough for a professional, straightforward and genuine enough for a competent amateur. Out competing and hunting regularly now.
This guy is a complete freak of nature for his combination of brain, temperament and ability. A smart, athletic model with a bit of substance and plenty of frame still to fill. He is very level headed and super consistent - he is exactly the same every day, wherever he is, whether that's schooling at home, hacking, competing or hunting.
Moves very well across all 3 paces. Big walk, active trot and a powerful, uphill canter. So much room still to improve with strength and maturity. He works nicely into the bridle and offers balanced, clean transitions for his age. Still green with much to improve on but is out getting respectable marks at Prelim level already, including a 31 at his first event showing that he is certainly capable of sub 30 scores in future with the right rider. He is big moving and a forward, responsive ride who tries very hard to do what he thinks you are asking so he needs a balanced, competent rider with an independent seat. The better you ride him the better he goes. Would do pure dressage.
One of the boldest horses I've sat on to a fence. Showing immense scope and desire to clear the jump and leave it up. Out competing regularly now, well balanced and rhythmical round a course and never looks at a thing. Locks on, takes you in whilst still staying rideable and gives every fence his absolute best shot, stays straight through doubles and combinations. Plenty of stride, opens up very well cross country so should not struggle to make the time. Showing an incredibly mature head out and about, unphased by the atmosphere and goings on of an event. Ready for a British Novice now. Has done an ODE at 80, ready for a BE90 with plenty of scope to produce on.
Out doing fun rides and hunting now with the bloodhounds, continuing to keep a sane and level head at all times whilst keen and capable to answer all questions. Mannerly and polite at all times.
Balto is a serious contender for any discipline and is ready to crack on and continue where we leave off. He hasn't been hammered in the school, rather that time has been spent taking him out and about and seeing as much of the world as possible.
Hacks alone and in company, good on the roads and in open spaces. Leads or follows. Sound with no medical history or notes. Balto is good to handle on the ground and to do, he lives in or out and is currently living out in a herd. Very straightforward and a pleasure to have around.
Very genuine, willing and trainable horse who enjoys the job and has never been ridden badly or had a bad experience. He has plenty of scope for a competitive amateur to produce on seriously into any discipline and the attitude and maturity to make it such a rewarding experience. Absolutely no quirks or vices but he is a quality sports horse and not a dog or a donkey so needs to be treated with due respect.
