SMARTIE SUPER DUPER TURBO COB!

Ref #: 270328
£8,000
  • Chestnut
  • Mare
  • 4 years
  • 15.1 hands

Currently standing 15.1hh and bum high, to mature around 15.2hh. 4yo flashy chestnut turbo cob mare with a heart of gold!

Smartie is a lovely compact, sporty cob mare out of an Irish Sports Horse dam - we have previously sold 2 from the same dam, Croia and Pretty, and you can have a look back through our page to find out more about them! She has good bone without the feather so not a hairy cob type at all.

As well as her lovely markings Smartie is a flashy mover with active expressive paces. She is a forward, fun, responsive ride and super bold. Off the leg and very willing to do the job - she is an adventure cob! Hasn't done much schooling due to her age but is very trainable and obedient in the school. Willing to give anything a try so will come on very quickly with the right rider.

Smartie is very bold to a fence. She will happily trot or canter round a course of fences and will lock on and take you in. She is really game and enjoys the job. Confident around fillers, trays and cross country fences and has done arena eventing. Been out to different arenas with a great attitude. Ideal riding club or pony club allrounder.

Been out hunting this season with a teenager where she behaved beautifully. She is also brilliant to hack both alone and in company. She really marches on and is bright and interested in the world around her. Good in traffic and open spaces.

Smartie is a real character and a yard favourite - everyone who rides her gets off smiling! She is a cheerful, bright sort who is up for a good time. A proper turbo cob, fun and forward but uncomplicated. Would suit a confident teen or amateur. Absolutely no quirks or vices, just a bit green - remember, she is 4! A super genuine girl who will make someone very happy for years to come. Out doing stuff now, ready to crack on with.

Serious enquiries to please call only. Texts, emails and messages may not be answered. All videos can be found on Facebook just search Amy Derber Equestrian Smartie.

SUPER FLASHY TOP QUALITY SPORTS HORSE

Ref #: 270246
  • Has hunted 2 seasons both in Ireland and in the UK
  • Huge amount of presence and quality under saddle
£12,000
  • Irish Draught
  • Gelding
  • 6 years
  • 16.1 hands
  • Has hunted 2 seasons both in Ireland and in the UK
  • Huge amount of presence and quality under saddle

Registered Irish Draught gelding Gortfree Hero x Welcome Flagmount.

Donald is an absolutely stunning, upstanding, flashy model who turns heads wherever he goes. Although registered Irish Draught he has plenty of blood and is an athletic, sporty type.

Donald has a huge amount of presence and quality under saddle. He has 3 massive, off the floor paces with a big uphill canter and flashy trot. Naturally carries himself very well and works quietly up into the bridle. Still weak in his frame and green in his schooling due to spending time on other activities but he is very willing and trainable. Gives a Rolls Royce ride with plenty of power and engine to give you a feel of what's to come as he strengthens up. He is forward and responsive off the leg and is not the kind of horse that will take a kick and pull so requires a quiet, balanced, competent rider with a bit of feel. Plenty of potential to do pure dressage.

Donald has hunted 2 seasons both in Ireland and in the UK including with a petite lady rider. He is mannerly and bold, jumping hedges and rails and would happily stay in this job or do pure sport. Schooling around small courses of fences away from home showing great scope and technique. Gives you a great feeling over a fence with plenty of quality to produce on up the levels for eventing or showjumping.

Hacks out alone and in company. Good with traffic and in open spaces. Currently in a snaffle for all activities. Donald is a bright, intelligent horse with all the quality and ability to go out and do any job to a decent level. For a competent and confident rider and handler he is very straightforward and a real pleasure in every way. Will continue to be produced until sold.

Donald has no quirks or vices but he is a bit wary of strangers on the ground. Please keep this in mind when viewing, he is not the kind of horse you can just go marching into the stable grabbing at his legs and face without so much as a 'hi, my name is Karen, pleased to meet you.' He would benefit from a home that is willing to spend time building a relationship with him.

Recently passed a 5 stage vetting with a few small, well concealed sarcoids. Pictures available, very happy to discuss.

ULTIMATE ALLROUNDER

  • Competing unaffiliated showjumping up to 90cm with plenty of potential for amateur BE or BS

16.1hh 7yo bay SHB(GB) mare Primitive Proposal x Blackthorn. Super genuine high quality confidence giving allrounder.

Meg is a substantial but compact model with good bone. She has good barrel and chest with a leg in each corner but does not ride like a big long horse - she is up in front, light in the hand and easy to hold together. Meg has had the foundations nicely established in her current home of more than 2 years where she has taken part in unaffiliated dressage, showjumping, modern pentathlon, one day events, beach rides, fun rides, adult camp, hunting and plenty of hacking.

Moves well with 3 rhythmical paces and a lovely soft mouth. Won at Novice level dressage with 71%. Basic lateral work and flying changes established, plenty of potential for the right rider to keep producing up the levels. Meg doesn't like to be kicked and pulled around, the nicer you ride her the nicer she goes and the harder she will try for you. Forward and obedient ride, not at all sharp.

Meg loves to jump and is very good to a fence. She is mannerly and polite on the way in and doesn't get hot or fizzy, maintains her rhythm nicely round a course with a lovely rideable canter. Equally bold both cross country and showjumping, Meg has never said no and always tries her absolute best off the stride she is given.

In a true testament to her genuine nature and rideability Meg has been used for junior modern pentathlon. Meg has been ridden by both novice and experienced riders and is a real confidence giver to a fence. She uses herself very well and gives you a great feeling without pinging you into the rafters. She would be ideal as a first competition horse for a teenager off ponies or equally she is competitive enough for a more experienced rider to produce up the levels in any discipline.

Has evented at unaffiliated level up to 80cm this year and has showjumped up to 1m with plenty of scope to go on. She is ready to go BS or BE with the right rider.

Meg recently attended her first hunt with the South Downs Bloodhounds where she behaved beautifully and showed herself to have all the makings to be a cracking hunter as well as a competitive sports horse.

Meg is good to hack and has regularly been out on her own and in company. We were advised by the owner that Meg can be a bit spooky when hacking on her own but we have not found that to be the case during our assessment here with us. She is good with traffic and open spaces and good to do on the ground. She is a sweet, kind, gentle and affectionate mare who loves a cuddle and will follow you round like a puppy. She can also be a bit sensitive and pull a face to share an opinion so wouldn't suit someone who is easily intimidated by a grumpy face. Absolutely no vices.

Meg has been ridden by novices and junior riders. She really is so genuine and will give the right rider a lot of confidence, especially jumping. This mare passes absolutely every test we put her through and just gets better and better - I cannot say enough good things about her.

For sale on behalf of a client. Serious enquiries to please call only. All video can be found on Facebook just search Amy Derber Equestrian Meg.

SUPER GENUINE YOUNG MAN

Ref #: 269856

£3,500
  • Thoroughbred
  • Bay
  • Gelding
  • 5 years

  • Proving to be bold and showing a lot of promise

A straightforward and quality prospect ready to produce on in any sphere. ROR eligible.

Alan is a real sweetheart with a truly kind and gentle soul. He absolutely loves to be cuddled and chatted to and will fall asleep in your arms having his ears rubbed! He is a compact, athletic, sporty model who will require a petite rider. Retired sound from flat racing having run a total of 5 times throughout 2020.

Alan has taken to retraining like a natural. He is a lovely mover with 3 active, rhythmical paces including a well balanced, uphill canter. He has a fantastic hind leg and is an obedient and responsive ride without being sharp. Working sweetly into the contact in all 3 paces, takes the bridle well and is always ridden in a snaffle and basic tack. Although only at the beginning of his education he has the basics and is ready to build on. Ready to go out and attempt a basic dressage test with plenty of natural ability and potential to produce up the levels.

Has just started to jump proving to be bold and showing a lot of promise. He really does try his best every time and will give anything a go. Trotting over little fillers and water trays comfortably.

Excellent to hack, Alan is good on the roads and is not a spooky type. Generally unphased by most things we have exposed him to, hacks out alone and in company, leads or follows.

Alan has a great attitude to his work. He is very willing to try and learns and improves quickly. Every session is useful to him. He has the brain and ability to be a really special little horse for the right rider, whatever your discipline whether you are looking to happy hack, specialise or just do a bit of everything. A very genuine, straightforward young horse with the basics, ready to build on for teenager or amateur. We will continue to produce him until sold and so price may increase.

Does windsuck but not excessively. No quirks or hang ups, does need more practice loading.

Serious enquiries to please call only. Texts and messages may not be answered. All video can be found on Facebook just search Amy Derber Equestrian Alan.

  • Double dilute - guaranteed to throw palomino, dun or smokey black foals
  • A truly versatile stallion producing stock for all disciplines
  • Livery available for visiting mares

Orlando is not your traditional Section D and because of that he is able to offer bone and substance to the likes of a TB or WB mare, but also, with his beautiful dished head and lighter frame, he is able to refine the more traditional D or heavier mare. A huge selling point for him is obviously his ability to produce a dilute foal! To a chestnut mare he guarantees to produce a palomino every single time. To bay and black mares he can produce buckskin, palomino and smokey black foals.

Orlando is WPCS licensed and is graded with the SPSS, taking Central Grading Champion for 2020 and Reserve Champion for Britain 2020. He was also the first Section D in AES history to be graded with the society. At both gradings he gained fabulous marks but the stand out would have to be 9's and 10's for his jumping ability and an 8.75 for his canter work!

Orlando is unique in many ways. He has shown his worth not just from the babies he has produced at the stud but for the mare owners who have used him, many of them several times over! A true allrounder, he has proven himself in the dressage arena and is now also proving himself in eventing and showjumping. He is the ultimate all rounder producer.... The type of stallion that can sire a foal who can go out and do a nice medium dressage test on Saturday and a 1.10m showjumping course on Sunday. The type of horse that you can leave out without a rug on in the rain and its not going to have melted away or become a major drama queen because you've dared to leave it out over night, The type that are intelligent and willing to learn and place implicit trust in you as their owner and rider. Who wouldn't want that? Then to top it off... All of that in a beautiful golden colour package. What more could there be?

£500 NFFR. £450 for visiting mares.

Collection fee applies for chilled orders which will be sent by Royal Mail next day delivery. Orders must be placed by 9am for next day delivery.

Livery and vet packages available for visiting mares.

16.2hh rising 5yo chestnut Irish Draught type gelding. Top quality hunter/allrounder with an incredibly kind, genuine nature. No breeding recorded.

Impressive draught type model with good bone and plenty of frame left to fill. Well put together with sturdy limbs, suitable for lady or gentleman. A real sweetheart and a gentle soul who loves to be groomed. I never have to put a headcollar on him for plaiting!

Out hunting regularly this season, both with a man and a petite lady rider. Hunts in a snaffle with only basic tack. He is a real gentleman out hunting and would suit a range of riders depending on what kind of day they'd like to have. He is mannerly and polite, will switch off at the meet whilst you have your port and sausage roll and doesn't get hot or wound up. He will hunt up front with the big boys or is also quite happy pootling along at the back whilst you chat to your mates. Would be suitable for a less confident rider.

Riding quietly in the school with a good mouth and 3 good paces. Obedient and responsive to the leg, not at all sharp or silly. Weak in the school still due to maturity and doing outside activities instead but very willing to try his best for you.

Jumps a course of fences very sweetly and doesn't bat an eye at fillers or trays. Shows good scope and wants to be careful. Has also done some cross country schooling and arena eventing. Very trainable, genuine and kind nature that could really give someone confidence and be a very useful riding club allrounder.

Excellent to hack. Goes on his own or in company, is good in the traffic and with farm machinery. Marches along happily and is just great company.

A real pleasure to have on the yard, he has a lovely kind nature but is still a little green in his handling. A little bit of patience and consistency will go a long way. Absolutely no vices or quirks.

Passed a 5 stage vetting 17th December 2021
