Popcorn is a 17 year, 13.2 Welsh section B. He has been with us for over 4 years and during this time he has helped my 2 daughters learn and grow to become the riders they are today. Sadly we have now outgrown him and so he is ready to move on to his next best friend and teach all over again.
Popcorn is not a push button pony and so teaches his riders how to actually ride and become ready for the next step. He would be happy to take someone from lead rein through to off lead rein and further or teach a more competent rider his moves in the dressage arena.
Over the years with us, popcorn has taken my girls through all disciplines of riding. He can show jump, go cross country, hack, beach ride and complete a beautiful dressage test, which is by far the area he excels in.
Popcorn loves to jump at home and at pony club rallies but is known to lose confidence in competitive jumping and so with this in mind I don’t believe him to be suited to a competitive jumping family.
Popcorn is a member of Wylye Valley pony club for the duration he’s been in our family and has completed all camps and rallies over the years.
Popcorn will hack out alone or in company, prefers to be behind but will lead a hack if asked.
This amazing gentleman will be someone’s best friend for them to learn and have fun on.
Although he can show cheeky pony tendencies, he is loved by all and is generally well mannered, being handled by my 10 year old daily.
He is front shod (shod last week), up to date with vaccinations, osteopathic treatments and teeth done in the last 14 days by equine dentist. Popcorn does have a history of EMS but is not medicated and only managed by turnout, meaning he is super easy to manage. He loves going out but will happily stay in (will turnout alone or with a friend and will happily stay in alone). No other health issues known. But it’s very important he goes to a 5* experienced home.
Popcorn can be trusted around children to groom and lead. Can be led or rode for exercise. Will suit most abilities wanting to learn and go up through abilities. He’ll take a tot on lead rein to gain more confidence or a more able rider off lead rein and help them grow in confidence. He really is a star.
Comes with all tack and essentials.
