Sweetie ("Sweetie Heart") is the perfect all rounder pony, extremely versatile, performing well at show jumping, eventing, dressage, hunting, BS, Pony Club and NSEA, pony racing at Cheltenham and even some beginner polo with the Beaufort Polo Club. She recently won the British Showjumping Bronze League in the South West region.
My son loves show jumping and Sweetie has been the perfect schoolmaster to take him up from unaffiliated 60cm up the grades to affiliated 85cm, but sadly he has now outgrown her. She is very genuine. She is safely forward and fun, with excellent brakes. She has proven to be fast against the clock, mainly owing to her ability to turn on a sixpence without unbalancing her jockey and forever willing to help him out to get to the finish line. My son regularly competed straight out of boarding school and is not the bravest of riders, but they have brought home countless rosettes and numerous qualifications and he has formed a strong bond with this super little pony. I have always stopped him competing over 85cm affiliated, but have watched her pop 1m15 Chase me Charlie!
One Day Eventing - she loves cross country and will happily jump into water, over coffins, trakehners, skinnies, whatever is asked of her and easily makes the time. She produces a lovely dressage test, placed in the PC Dressage Championships, and is easy to get on the bit and into a nice rhythm. She is well schooled and ridden regularly by a small pro. He hasn’t done a lot of ODEs on her, but has always been placed. She was 3rd individually at Rectory Farm ODE 70cm 2023 with 73% Dressage (against adults - same course as the PC Champs, following day); Shipton Moyne Beaufort Pony Club ODE, Team 2nd. He has regularly schooled her over 80/85cm.
She has hunted with the VWH and jumped everything asked of her. My son has done a few lessons at the Beaufort Polo Club and she was unfazed, sharp off the leg, and loved every minute of it!
She has been incredibly well cared for with us, without exception, including regular worming, vaccinations, dentistry, physio and is healthy and sound. She is easy to clip, shoe, worm, lunge, lead off / lead (even off a bicycle, responding beautifully to canter, wow, etc.). I'm looking for a home who are set up and able to ensure her cherished lifestyle continues as deserved. Company and all year turn out is important to me personally as something all our horses enjoy.
Open to vetting. Based near Chippenham / Malmesbury, Wiltshire.
Vices - she is not a pony that loves to be fussed and cuddled. No malice and never bites or kicks, just prefers her own space. She prefers to travel with another (does not like trailers), though we have regularly taken her to shows alone, including stay-overs.
I would love to keep this pony forever as we all adore her, so this will be a heartbreaking sale for us, but my son has definitely outgrown her. She needs a new jockey to take her reins and have some fun! The home is very important to us and will be vetted. We would love to keep in touch. Please no amateurs, she is a competition pony.
