Introducing ‘Jamilla’ our beloved home bred mare and one of the nicest we have bred yet from the dam line of ‘Miss Cartier’ the prolific winning grade A jumper, with winnings up to 1m35 level known for her unbeatable speed and competitive nature! She is by the German stallion ‘Cornet de Semilly’ who at only 10 years old is already jumping at 5* World Cup level with results in 1m55 classes. We selected him as a sire when he was a young horse given the world class bloodlines from his family, and showed tremendous scope to compliment the dams careful technique and what a product they have both produced in Jamilla!
We bred a foal from her last year to keep the dam line going as her mother is retired from breeding now, always from a foal she has had impeccable confirmation and a kind nature, we don’t like to rush them when young so while she was maturing still we decided to put her in foal and last year she produced a beautiful colt by John Whitaker’s stallion ‘Three Coynes’ who we are so excited about! She started her ridden career education only a matter of weeks ago, and like all her maternal siblings from the dam she was hacking alone through the woodland within days! So bold, brave and easy with a willingness to learn which is a breath of fresh air for producers!
Currently she is still learning the ropes, but already in just a month she has established flying changes and riding correctly in a balanced way. She boasts 3 expressive paces and certainly wouldn’t look out of place in the dressage ring, she has the ‘Wow watch me factor’ never strong or silly and rides in a simple snaffle in every aspect of life. She hacks alone through the forest and with others, seen light traffic on the roads and just takes everything in. She has been cross country schooling were she was incredibly impressive, and took everything on! Straight down steps, water complex over hedges there was nothing she didn’t do! Only this week she competed at her first ever affiliated competition, having never been to the venue before she managed to jump a faultless double clear and win the British novice! This just shows how uncomplicated and easy she is, she will give her new rider so much fun.
Definitely one I think we will regret selling but sadly we are overstocked with young ones currently and have injured my self so will be off for a while and she is far too nice to be stuck in the field. She is currently shod and ready to go, I can certainly see her winning age championships this summer and even contend the world breeding championships in Lanaken for the British breds! Only the best of homes need apply, horses like this are incredibly hard to find in today’s market.
