We have owned Penny for over 4 years and she has been a good horse for us during that time. She was bred in Ireland and was used briefly for hunting before being imported into England. During this period she sustained a minor injury to her right hind leg and during her recuperation period she was successfully put into foal. This incident has left a scar on her right hind leg but this does not affect her in any way.

Since being with us, she has been a great allrounder, she has done fun rides, dressage tests, showjumping and cross country. She has also competed up to 90cm eventing and showjumping with the pony club and attended club events such as camp and championships at Bicton.

Penny lives out 24/7 with our other companion horse on private land, but will happily go into a shelter/ stable when needed. There is a livery yard in close proximity to us, where we have use of their facilities, and Penny is always very interested in the activity there and would easily fit into a busier environment. She can be quite a dominant mare and would soon find her position in any group.

She is excellent with vets, farriers, physio, clipping and travelling. Penny is up to date with all vaccinations and has very good teeth and feet, she is currently shod on a 6 week cycle.

Penny has had time off from schooling and competing over the last 12 months due to difficulties but is now coming nicely back into work as a happy hacker. She does need an experienced and capable rider as she can be strong and can on occasion rear / buck. She is a brave horse but still needs to gain confidence from her rider. Penny will hack out solo or with other horses, but sometimes she will get excited and can misbehave when in company.

This is very sad sale due to impending University commitments and we are seeking to find a new long term experienced owner for Penny so that she may enjoy many more fulfilled and happy years together with a caring partner who will bring out all the best she has to offer.
