Starlight is an absolutely gorgeous 15h 5 year old dun Irish Sports Horse mare. Safe sane and sensible with an old head on young shoulders. For sale on behalf of her owner/breeder.

Starlight is one in a million who has so much class, quality and potential with the most amazing temperament to match. She is a registered Irish sport horse, being Connemara x tb, although she looks like a pure connie! She is a gorgeous dappled golden dun who is very striking and catches the eye where ever she goes. She has such a kind eye and is so appealing to everyone she meets. She is the perfect middle weight stamp with a nice depth of girth so easily takes a taller rider. She is an ideal size for teens coming off ponies as well as small adults so would make a brilliant mother/ daughter share too. She is a very desirable type and size and really is the full package. She has good conformation and is straight moving. She is the perfect alrounder who excels across all disciplines with a real “can do” attitude.

Starlight has three super smart paces and works nicely on the flat. She works correctly between leg and hand into a soft outline. She is nice and light in the contact and always ridden in a snaffle. She is a good medium speed who is nicely forward going with good transitions but is not at all sharp. She is straight forward and sensible to ride and gives her rider confidence. She goes very sweetly on the flat now but has even more to come as she becomes more established. She has competed in Ireland at preliminary dressage competitions with a teenager where she gained high marks in late 60’s. She is now ready to affiliate and progress through the dressage levels. She will make a very straight forward dependable dressage horse as she is very trainable and rideable with a super temperament combined with lots of talent and potential. She has also been ridden by my novice 10 year old step daughter which is a real testament to Starlight’s safety and temperament.

Starlight loves her jumping and makes a lovely shape over a fence. She is very careful both in front and behind. She nicely takes you into a fence and is very honest and genuine to jump. She doesn’t get at all strong or fizzy, juts super easy and straight forward. She is very bold and jumps all fillers and water trays first attempt confidently. She is a very much point and aim type who helps her rider out and juts loves to jump. She has been attending training shows and unaffiliated comps at 80cm with her owner in Ireland as well as arena hires here in England. She has plenty of scope to jump higher tracks but hasn’t been rushed as her owner has had her long career in mind. She has also been xc schooling where she was simply amazing. She was very confident and bold and jumped everything first attempt including ditches. She is a real xc machine, point and aim type who is very genuine with lots of talent. She is a very straight forward ride and takes her rider into the fences nice and confidently. I can see her really excelling as an eventer as she is brilliant at all 3 disciplines. She would make a super Badminton grass roots prospect/ Cotswold cup. As well as being suitable for all pony club and riding club activities.

Starlight is lovely to hack both alone and in company. She has done more hacking in company either in pairs or in large groups, she’s very chilled and juts goes with the flow in a sensible manner. She is very good in traffic including lorries and motor bikes. She is very mannerly and will canter happily in any order on an easy rein, she’s not at all competitive. She doesn’t mind if she gets left behind either. She is very sure footed and just a real delight to hack out. She has been on pleasure rides which she loves and is so much fun. She would be very well suited to someone wanting to combine pleasure rides with competing, or equally just one or the other.

Starlight has a superb kind temperament. She loves people and will make someone an amazing best friend. She loves all the attention of being groomed and pampered. She is a delight to handle in all ways. She lives in and out and is happily turns out with mares and geldings. She is very quiet in the field and gets on well with all horses and ponies. She loads perfectly (single handed) and travels like a dream. She really is such a genuine honest horse who deserves the best of homes. Someone is going to be very lucky to own Starlight.

Starlight would be very suitable for a teenager coming off ponies and adults alike. She would make a fabulous event horse as she has bags of talent across all 3 disciplines. She would also suit a home wanting to do all pony/riding club activities and hacking/ pleasure rides. She would also suit a home to do some dressage or show jumping. Sadly for sale as her owner doesn’t have the time for her with younger horses now taking priority. She has been in the same home all of her life as her owner bred her so full history known. She has been based with me for the last few weeks and is now looking for her new home, 5* homes only please who wouldn’t mind keeping in touch. She will be someone’s horse of a life time!
