Ruby is a beautiful, gentle mare who we have owned since a 6 year old and is now looking for a hacking / all round home where she will not be required to jump competitively. We are retiring her from jumping as she just hasn't come back to jumping at the level she was at prior to injury and we feel it is not fair to keep asking her, as she will always try her heart out for you.

So if anyone is looking for an all round fun hacking horse she may well be perfect. She hacks out on her own round all of the country lanes. Has seen lots of traffic and large machinery, but we have never had her on very busy main roads. Has hacked with other horses but we haven't taken her in a large group.

Will canter calmly round open fields. If you ask her to gallop she will come alive. But if you don't push her she will happily plod along in a slow canter.

More than capable of hacking out and she does enjoy her rides out. She is happy being schooled on the flat and remains sensible, doesn't get hot or fizzy.

She does get very keen and excited with any pole work and also when she jumps and she is strong. Although she would still jump at a lower level (up to 1.10m) she is not the easiest to ride due to her way of going and how keen she gets.

Still very much enjoys life, very well bred and is never sick or sorry. Fully up to date with teeth, injections and farrier.

Great to do on the ground, lead, load, travel, groom, farrier and clip etc....

Due to her breeding she would not be for a beginner or true novice rider.

She probably would not pass a vetting and we are more than happy to discuss this, as a kind loving home is very important to us. While she is no longer up to jumping the bigger tracks, she is too happy and healthy to retire to a field as she is the type of horse who enjoys doing something.
