Dom Carlos C has been professionally started by Grace Durkan and hasn't put foot wrong. He has been long-reined around the farm and then backed and ridden away, hacking around lanes and the farm, and has spent a few sessions in the school. He is currently having a break and is ready for his new rider to continue his training.

Carlos is a very kind and willing horse and has not been phased by anything in his education so far. He loads and travels well, stands to be mounted, has hacked happily with another horse and has been ridden in the school on his own, all without any drama at all. He is good with the farrier, up-to-date with his vaccinations and teeth (wolf teeth removed), is well handled and loves to be groomed but has manners and is not spoilt.

His dam is by Carentino Glory, 1.60 showjumping sire of many top show jumpers and eventers, including Tom Crisp's 5* Badminton, Burghley and Pau horse, Liberty and Glory. She is out of Dazzling Effects, who did Badminton and Burghley, and who is by legendary GB Team GP dressage European Championship stallion Catheston Dazzler, who was also an Advanced Eventer. He was consistently in the top 20 Event Stallions listings. His dam's side also boasts Advanced Event horses through the famous Welton bloodlines. His sire, Britannia Royal, is an Advanced Event horse and is by Royaldik, whose dam shares the same genes as the most famous eventing TB Heraldik. His dam is Badmiton/Burghley and Olympic silver medalist Headley Britannia, by the legendary Jumbo.

Carlos is a thoroughly modern mix of warmblood, thoroughbred and Irish bloodlines with proven competition backgrounds. He has the expressive movement needed for dressage, sufficient TB to be able to make the time and to be tough, and has exceptional jumping bloodlines to allow him to jump boldly. He really is the full package for the sport.

He is already showing that he moves exceptionally well under saddle and we have every reason to believe that he will excell as a competition horse, in the right hands.

As he is a 3yo he will only go to a kind, knowledgeable home with experience of bringing on young sports horses.

I bred him to event at a high level and I can honestly say that he is everything that I would want for the modern sport. He has a great gallop when he plays in the field, with a ground-covering stride but he is also showing good balance when ridden. With his breeding, temperement and trainability he is a very exciting prospect for the future. He has had the best start in life and now needs to take the next step in his career.
