For your consideration stands Edgewater Godfrey, an eye-catching 4 year old Irish Draught gelding. Godfrey is a very good looking young horse with a beautiful temperament. He has three very balanced paces and convinces through his excellent conformation.
This kind gelding has made his mark in many ID show classes in Ireland with judges complimenting him regularly on his ride and are astounded by his young age. Out of the eight shows he completed up to date, he won five and finished no lower than third. His greatest achievement was his win of the young Irish Draught class at Royal Balmoral Show and also standing Champion Irish Draught there.
It was in Balmoral that he qualified for the IDHB (GB) Champion Challenge at the National Show in Onley in September this year and he is offered for sale with the ride. His passport is already overstamped, which makes him ready to compete.
Adding to his success in the showring, Godfrey is a horse who is very enjoyable at home to ride. He is not easily spooked and takes everything in his stride. He enjoys being hacked regularly, both alone and in company, with and without the farm dogs as companions. He currently lives out, apart from the night before a show, where he just as happily stays in. He is easy to clip and shoe, has been regularly wormed and his teeth are done.
As part of every young horse's education, Godfrey was jumped in the beginning of the year by a professional rider, who complimented him on his technique. However, as we focused on showing, he hasn't been jumped since April and hence is still green.
Godfrey's incredibly comfortable paces and his kind temperament would also make him an ideal potential side saddle prospect.
He stands in Ireland and any viewings are very welcome! This wonderful horse deserves a good home in which he can continue to develop and reach his potential.
