Heartbreaking sale of our lovely Pixie.
We have owned her for 3 years, and she has been a joy to have.
She took her rider from jumping 70 to 110, and still has so much more to give.
She is incredibly brave, she has never once had a stop, a buck, or a rear. I don’t think she is even capable of being nasty, you will not find a mare like this anywhere else. To her core, she is a trier. She will go off any stride, or off any turn. She never wants to let you down.
She has done a bit of everything.
We started off experimenting with the eventing. In her past she has done some BE90s & 100’s. Most notably a second place at Bicton BE90 with 28.8 and has 14 foundation points. She has three practical, well balanced paces. However, her now rider wasn’t intrested in the eventing, preferring showjumping, and found that both she and pixie are much too bored in the dressage arena, and would rather be jumping.
She is a tank out XC. She schools around novice with ease. There isn’t a jump too big or too scary, she will always try.
Arena eventing seems to be one of her favourites. She won the county qualifier in the NSEA 100 arena eventing in 2022, qualifying for Hickstead.
She jumped double clear at hickstead in a huge atmosphere.
She then qualified for Royal windsor in the NSEA 90 showjumping. She wasn’t fussed by the hundreds of people and horses, and came away with a gorgeous clear helping our team win national runners up.
In her first ever BS show, she came away with second place in the discovery, with one of the only clears in a competitive class.
She hunted with her rider and a hunt master last season, jumping Hedges bigger than her and leading the field. I found out through hedge jumping, how ridiculously brave this little mare is. She is clever and fast on her feet, often working things out all by herself. I trust her with my life!
On the ground she is an angel. I have known geldings more mare-ish than pixie. She has never pulled a face, kicked, bitten, or squealed. She is partial to a cuddle and is easy in her stable. She is such a pleasure to be around. Easy to shoe, load, catch etc. Never any injuries or lameness, she’s hard as nails.
Hacks alone or with company.
She needs a confident rider who wants to win and can give her all the opportunities she deserves. She is forward going and wouldn’t suit a nervous rider. However she has a lot to teach so a rider coming off ponies or wanting to move up the levels of showjumping, NSEA or low level eventing would suit her well. She has done Pony club and camps, as well as Area including the showjumping championships. A true schoolmaster and all rounder. She took her rider from jumping at small local shows to Hickstead and Windsor, and still has so much to teach.
Only going to a home that really truly loves her as much as we do! (if that’s possible)
only vices are she must be sedated to clip, and must travel in a lorry. She just does not settle in the trailer, however, in a lorry she loads like a dream, and is calm as anything. She has traveled 8+ hour journeys without a peep in our lorry. Maybe she is just a snob.
If you want a horse that will give you her all, is kind and brave, and has a cracking jump, she is your girl.
Hopefully she can teach someone else everything she has to give.
Only going to a five star home.
