Sable is a 17-year-old, 16.1hh grey Irish mare with a wealth of experience and a kind, genuine nature. Bred from the well-known Clover Hill line, she has been a much-loved schoolmistress and all-rounder.

In the school, Sable is incredibly sensible and well-balanced, with three comfortable paces. She can be ridden bareback and has been ridden by novice riders without issue, making her a very dependable and sane type.

Although she has hacked out both alone and in company, she isn’t entirely solid on her own, so a more confident rider would suit her best for hacking.

Sable has a great deal of experience under her belt. She has previously competed up to 1.05m in British Showjumping and is very straightforward to a fence, making her ideal for someone looking to enjoy jumping at riding club or trailblazers level. She has also hunted and taken part in beach and pleasure rides, so she’s seen a bit of everything and takes it all in her stride.

She is currently barefoot and up to date with her vaccinations. She’s easy to load, travels well, and is very friendly in the field with both mares and geldings. On the ground, she prefers a more no-nonsense, workmanlike approach, but she’s never naughty and would never bite or kick.

Sable would ideally suit someone looking to enjoy lower-level competitions, in a kind and uncomplicated way. She is open to viewings both at home and away, and is the same honest, genuine mare wherever she goes.
