This is a very sad sale, and only offered because our daughter is not showing enough interest in the day to day riding, and Dom is too young and talented to become a field ornament and be wasted - he deserves a rider who will take him out and allow him to shine.
Dom is not a first ridden, but he is the perfect 1.5 / second pony for a confident, ambitious child. He is a pony who thrives in an active, horsey home – versatile, bold, and happiest when out doing a job.
Dom has a super CV with his former owners daughters across multiple disciplines where he:
• Hunted with the Duke of Buccleuch Hounds, regularly turning out on Saturdays where he was mannerly. Stood well when needed, went nicely in company, and was bold across country.
• Honest and keen with jumping both coloured poles and natural fences - he has a good little pop.
• Was a regular around the Scottish Borders Common Ridings and Festivals; local Hunt Rides/Fun Rides where he was always happy to be forward-going, fun, and reliable.
• Participated in Pony Club activities, but does require a stronger rider to unlock his full PC potential, sadly this is not with us.
During his time with us, Dom has mainly been used for hacking, done the local Common Riding Junior Rides, and participated in a couple of smaller competitions on the lead rein.
Dom has wintered out and ran happily with my mare, but has ran with both mares and geldings as field buddies. He is up to date with worming, vaccinations, teeth etc. Good to load and travel - can have the odd "moment" if he is travelling solo where he decides he doesn't want to leave the pony party, but if someone stands behind him he will walk in - good with farrier, vet and dentist. Dom is not suited to a quiet life or field companion role – he thrives on activity and will excel with a young capable rider who wants to Hunt regularly; Enjoys hacking, fun rides, and variety; and generally make the most of a truly talented, loving and gorgeous pony. Sadly he is just not getting enough with us.
This is a very sad sale so please no tyre kickers, loan or lwvtb requests etc. Further videos and photos are available upon request.
