Star 'Mountross I'm A Star' 14.2 4yr connemara gelding by I Love You Melody x Karina of Glencarrig (Rosenaharley Rowley). N/HW
Backed, w/t and hacking with us at the start of the year, Star was straightforward to start and eager to learn. He went home and has since been hacking alone and in company, doing some light schooling and been out to some arena hires along with a couple of short holidays due to his age, he has not been rushed or overdone.
He has done a couple of seasons of in hand showing indoor and outdoor. He was reserve champion at Midlands foal and youngstock in the 2/3yr olds, he also qualified for STARS.
He is now w/t/c in the school and field, he carries himself very well naturally and is well balanced with tidy transitions. He has trotted round a set of cross poles at arena hire which he really enjoyed. He's brave with an inquisitive attitude.
He enjoys hacking and is not fazed by traffic, he'll have a genuine look at the odd thing but just processes, has a fuss and carries on. He has done more work in the fields than school as owner doesn't have one so is used to working in an open space, he is well balanced for his age, he did a lot of longreining before he was backed and this really shows. He is also used to hacking through a ford so goes through water fine.
He takes your leg aids well, he isn't reactive and has been used to us mauling about on him from day 1! He's on the steadier side the majority of the time but does wake up a bit when out and about as expected from a baby. He is genuine and will produce into something really smart, he obviously does ask baby questions and thrives with a job, so we are looking for someone competent and knowledgeable enough with enough time to continue his education properly.
He's good to get back on after time off, but we want someone to offer consistency and the right work for a clever 4yr old, not someone that wants to meander up the road once a week. He wants a partner to bring out the best in him.
He's got a loving, fun personality. He enjoys fuss and attention and is easy to do. He's happy in or out, settles quickly and is nice to have around, his downside being if he can put something in his mouth, he does, so you can't leave things hung up in his stable!
He's good to catch, lead, load, travel (used to a trailer), bath, trim (good feet barefoot, he can get fidgety when he's bored is all so stands with a lick for trimming still). Used to a farm environment inc cows/sheep/dogs/kids/quads/tractors etc.
Incredibly sad sale but owner has made the decision it is best for him, she struggles to offer consistency with a young family.
A real star in the making, ready to make your own and get out and about. He'd likely turn his hand to any sphere in time or equally be a smart all-rounder.
He's up to date with vaccs/worming/dentist.
Open to vet.
