Handsome 10-year-old, 17hh chestnut Thoroughbred gelding by Sir Cobra, trained and evented previously by Austin O’Connor.

Sir Ancelotti is a true gentleman with so much to offer. He has been in and out of work for the past year, so he will need someone patient to gently build up his top line and bring him back into consistent fitness. With time and care, he will easily reach his full potential.

Highlights:
-Hacks alone or in company, including on roads
-Previously hunted and jumped up to 90cm (with former owner)
-Exceptional brakes, never reared, not bolshy, never bites
-Can shy at large tractors, blowing bags or bird flying out of brush. But never mean and doesn’t bolt, usually a jump to the side and regains confidence. Because of this need a rider who is confidence giving and knows that every horse can shy now and again.
-Forward when asked but always safe — responds beautifully to voice and a light squeeze, never needing whip or spur
-Kind and adaptable — confidence-giving for beginners, yet responsive and rewarding for experienced riders
-Has great groundwork and liberty training foundation (lunges without tack, responds to voice commands for transitions)—all needs to be brought back in of course.
-Barefoot, easy to trim, brilliant to catch, clip, and handle and load.
-Loves pampering and people — will literally snooze on your shoulder while being stroked.

Lifestyle & Care:
-Currently living out 24/7 in a herd and thriving — ideally suited to this setup
-Not keen on being stabled for long periods (can get “stable depressed”)
-Needs diet management: can drop weight in winter/stress and had tie-back surgery at 4 (best with grass/hard feed and hay from the floor; too much hay tied up may cause mild choke, which he handles calmly)

Comes with full wardrobe of rugs, saddle pads, hoof boots, plus a custom Saddle Company saddle and bespoke bridle/bit.
