Duchess Calina has proven to be a fabulous broodmare. She has produced two exceptional foals (A colt by Durable and a colt by Damaschino) with super temperaments and powerful movement. She is a very good Mother.

During both pregnancies she has lived out in a herd and is a hardy mare. She is also happy in a stable. She came into foal straight away on first attempt with fresh and chilled semen. She is the most beautiful looking, quality, liver chestnut mare.

Duchess Calina was successful herself in her ridden career, being highly placed in young horse showjumping classes in Germany and in young dressage horse classes here in the UK at PL level. She competed up to elementary with scores in excess of 78% with a professional rider. Sadly she is not an easy ride and quite sensitive. I am therefore selling her as a broodmare only. She is sound and up to date with her regular checks.

Duchess was champion mare for her year in 2019 at the annual Hanoverian show and reserve champion mare overall. She is a premium mare.

She is only for sale because I’m unable to ride her myself and I do not have facilities for anymore foals! She has been in my ownership for seven years and I’ve known of her since she was a foal.

Her price does not reflect her quality. A good, suitable home is most important.
