Quirky part bred Arab gelding. Owned since a foal. Very extensive medical investigations carried out and there’s nothing wrong with him he’s just exuberant and if your riding ability isn’t up to Sophie Seymour level you will likely end up on the deck repeatedly. For Sophie he was impeccably behaved and didn’t star in any social media posts other than being fast asleep in her stables.
He’s also a lovely ride for a freelance rider who rides him once a week for me currently. He’s popped round the 90cm and 1m x-country fences at Chard for him beautifully.
I’ve had a brilliant ride on him round a hunter trial at Pontispool. He’s taken me on hound exercise and autumn hunting as good as gold. I did a fun ride on him and other than decking me once near the start after a fence we had a fabulous 12miles and did lots of jumping. He’s also been to the beach and in the sea and was impeccably behaved.
I love him to bits but I have a young family and I need to put my son first. I don’t have the time or funds to get him out hunting regularly and I think that’s what he would enjoy. I also think he would be great at team chasing. He’s super brave and isn’t phased by ditches, steps or water.
He’s very sure footed, has always been bare foot as never required shoes. Hacks out alone or in company and is good in traffic. Lives on a working farm so is fine with cattle, machinery etc. Great to load and travel. Ties up at the box at a show no trouble at all, will happily stand with a haynet.
Needs daily turnout all year round. Will box walk if stabled for a prolonged period. He gets very attached to other horses and will stress if you take them away. He has a companion pony currently. He does settle on a big yard with horses coming in and out all the time but on a smaller yard he gets attached and seems to think every other horse is his companion.
He is very low mileage and I want him to go and have fun. He loves people and exploring the countryside and he’s got plenty of scope to go hedge hopping.
I would like him to stay local. Serious enquiries only please, this has been a very difficult decision.
