9 year old gelding out of Welton Double Cracker

Registered British Sport Horse standing at 16.3hh. A sad sale but he is a big horse and the fitter and stronger he gets, the more he is proving too much of a horse for me (small female). He will therefore need a confidence rider.

He’s had some down time over the winter, but is currently out hacking and light schooling. His current fitness level is reflected in the price.

Herbie is respectful and level headed in open spaces (in open fields and on the beach) so would suit a hunting/hacking home. 100% Cross Country is Herbie’s forte, so bold and brave to fences he would take you over anything! He has also show-jumped up to 100 (BS on a ticket).

I haven’t done a huge amount of dressage with him, but he has been out competing Prelim/Novice and scored 65+%. I wouldn’t say schooling is Herbie’s favourite thing to do. He’s also a lot of horse to keep together, so would need a strong rider to get the best out of him in this discipline.

He started eventing earlier this year, attending a Cotswold Cup ODE. We only did 80cm, but he popped around with such ease that he could easily step up to 90 straightaway.

Hacks alone & in company, and is not phased by traffic. Travels in a lorry or trailer and is well behaved at competitions.

Up to date with teeth/wormer/vaccinations.

Will come with some rugs and his bridle.
