‘Rowfantina Take a Bow’ - An absolutely heartbreaking sale of our much loved pony, Percy, who is hopelessly outgrown. Same home for the past 5 years.
Percy has taken my incredibly nervous little girl from being too scared to trot on the lead rein to cantering round small jumping courses, showing FR, farm rides, beach rides and endless hacking. He is a super safe, steady pony who is more woah than go.
Showing - previously professionally produced and qualified for HOYs and RIHS. He was 4th at HOYs in 2018 in LR M&M. We have shown local level and done LR and then progressed to FR where he has been incredibly safe in the busiest of rings. He knows his LR job inside out. We qualified for STARS where he behaved impeccably despite the electric atmosphere and didn’t put a hoof wrong. No working in/calmers/ear plugs needed at all.
Jumping - we haven’t done lots of jumping as my daughter was not a big fan. But he happily trots/canters round cross pole classes. Very safe, jumped show jumps/small fillers/working hunter fences and small jumps on farm rides. Never over jumps, just potters over.
Dressage - has done some LR and intro classes, lovely comments from the judges. He has beautiful paces.
Hacking - loves to go out hacking, hacks alone or in company. Hacks on roads with all traffic/tractors etc and is never spooky. Great in open spaces, never gets silly, even if the others cantering off will happily stay at the back. Happy to be lead from other horses. Great on the beach.
Currently stabled with daily turnout and goes out overnight in summer. Happily turned out with mares/geldings or on his own. Is a very good doer so we do restrict his grazing. Never had laminitis but we are careful to avoid. Can sometimes pull faces in the stable/at feed time but would never bite/kick.
Perfect to travel again alone or with others, self loads, stands on the box all day, never gets upset if the others leave him alone on the box. Perfect to clip/farrier (2 fronts)/dentist/vet. Will stand to be groomed and pampered by little ones all day. Can pull little ones to tasty hay/grass if they’re leading but never tries it on with more experienced handlers. My daughter (now 11) does everything with him herself now. He has had his knees injected for mild arthritis but doesn’t affect his performance at all.
We are looking for a very special, loving home where Percy could make another family’s dreams come true and help teach more little children to ride and have lots of fun.
