Robby is a 16.2hh heavyweight hunter, a smart black gelding foaled in 2008. He has been one of our much-loved and extremely popular hirelings for many years. However, due to a very wet season, cancelled meets and a number of younger horses waiting to come through, we have taken the decision to reduce numbers and find suitable homes for some of our older horses who would appreciate a slightly quieter life.

Robby is very well schooled on the flat and has been shown in the past. He is the definition of a seasoned hunter who knows his job inside out. He is excellent with hounds, will stand on point, open and shut gates, and is happy to peel off and hack home alone at the end of the day. He will jump absolutely anything you point him at without question.

During the summer months our hirelings attend numerous fun rides and regular beach rides, all of which Robby thoroughly enjoys. He is a genuine, kind horse who has taught many people how to ride and has given countless riders their first, very enjoyable hunting experience. He would suit a wide range of riders.

Robby does require some TLC and benefits from front pads and a little bute on a day’s hunting. This winter he had his coffin joint injected, to which he responded very well.

He is a true gentleman with absolutely no vices or quirks, and he hacks out alone without issue. A very valuable and reliable asset to any yard. Filled shod, Clipped, fit and in work.
