Stunning quality dressage prospect/ alrounder with superb paces
Offered on behalf of her owner. Aurora is a 16.2h 11 year old dark bay warmblood mare. She has 5 generations of pedigree, she is by () out of () so good jumping breeding. She is a stunning girl who is full of quality with a pretty head. She is a super athletic stamp who really catches the eye as she is very correct. She has excellent conformation, straight movement and is blemish free. She is a much sought after type as she goes beautifully on the flat with super paces and also has a bold scopey jump. She has the most wonderful kind temperament and just loves to be around people.
Aurora works beautifully on the flat and has a very good correct way of going. She has three super paces including a ground covering walk, a floaty trot with natural cadence and a super comfy uphill canter that you can sit to all day. She works nicely between hand and leg up to the contact. She gives you an amazing feel and is very rideable. She has a lovely soft mouth and is light in the hand, always ridden in a snaffle. She is a nicely forward going ride with good transitions and a medium speed. She is well schooled and des leg yielding and walk to canter so would be working at novice/elementary level. She is a nice straightforward ride who doesn’t buck, rear or bolt ect. She has been ridden by a range of different riders including competent teenagers as well as a 70 year old man (who currently owns her) so is nice and adaptable to her rider. I feel that she has a lot of potential to excel at dressage as she moves beautifully, is very rideable, enjoys her flatwork and has a nice relaxed way of going. She is ready to take out and work through the dressage levels, she would affiliate straight away as is nice and established.
Aurora has a BS record (goes by the name Klaver) up to discovery. She is a super talented jumper who makes a real scopey shape over a fence, being very careful. However she isn’t always consistent and can jack it in after one round. She is either brilliant and gets well placed or gets eliminated, this is what her record shows. She loves jumping for fun at home and we have found her to be a real confidence giver who knows her job well and is point and aim. She maintains a lovely rhythm and is nicely adjustable into a fence and will take a miss to help her rider out. She has really enjoyed doing some pole work and grid work too. When recently out at an arena hire she started off faultless and jumped everything confidently, nicely taking her rider in and showing a lot of class and talent. After giving her a walk around break she was then reluctant to jump around again. So maybe she is a ‘one round horse’ or equally mabe she has learnt to get away with doing this and a competent rider can get her out of it. I generally believe you can get her out of this if you want her for showjumping. But I feel she would enjoy a varied lifestyle where she gets to jump as part of variety and she isn’t soley expected to do round and round of pure showjumping.
Aurora is good to hack but does prefer following, she is literally anyones ride when in behind and a very easy ride. She will go up front but needs a firm confident rider to kick her on and make her lead as she much prefers to tuck in behind another horse. She is very good with traffic and gives her rider a lovely relaxed ride. She will canter on an easy rein without getting strong or silly. She will also hack out alone with a competent rider and we have found her to be good alone as she doesn’t have another horse to cling behind.
Aurora is the sweetest horse on the ground. She absolutely loves people and having attention. She is perfect to groom, bath, clip, load, catch, lead, shoe ect. She prefers travelling in a lorry rather than a trailer. She is currently mostly living in due to how wet our fields are and she copes really well with being in so would be suitable for a yard with limited or no winter turnout. She must sell to an experienced 5* home where she will be loved and enjoyed. I can really see her excelling as a dressage horse. She will make someone a horse of a life time.
