Silveroak Jumping Jack is a very special Irish Draught yearling colt by Macs Silver. He has all of the qualities to develop into a top class sports horse. Jack is offered only to the very best of homes.
Jumping Jack is a beautifully put together young horse with excellent conformation, a lovely refined head and a naturally athletic frame. He moves with effortless expressive paces and incredible balance. He stood out amongst our 2025 foals for his exceptional movement and it is clear that this young horse will go far in the right hands.
Jack has a wonderful temperament. He is kind and easy to handle, he carries himself with a really kind presence that immediately catches the eye. I expect him to mature to become an athletic type of Irish Draught which would be perfect for someone looking for a top quality prospect for eventing, show jumping or sports horse career, but also a horse with a sensible thinking brain and the sure-footedness that Irish Draughts are renowned for. Ive no doubt he would also make an exceptionally good small or lightweight hunter as his conformation is so good.
True to his name, Jack has shown a natural jumping instinct from the very beginning. As a young foal he would happily pop over puddles, weeds and any other small object in his path already demonstrating a quick, careful technique and plenty of scope. He will also be a perfect dressage prospect as his paces really are exceptional, and would rival those of most warmbloods. It is of little surprise when you consider his breeding as both his sire and dam are exceptionally good jumping horses with fabulous paces.
Jacks’ Sire is the beautiful Class 1 Stallion Macs Silver. Known for his quality both in the UK and Ireland, Macs is a first class stallion who has fantastic jumping ability, correctness and typiness with excellent conformation. He is a very good example of the breed. Macs is easy going and totally unflappable. Macs is by Fast Silver, who needs no introduction. His dam line is Donovan and Blue Peter. He is a young, up and coming sire who Is proving to be very popular and he stands with us here at Silveroak Irish Draught Stud. Macs’ typiness and athleticism were highly praised in his grading and he also appeared in an article about him in The Irish Field.
Jack’s Dam, Lili, is a beautiful mare. Full name ‘Lili The Pink’, she retired to Silveroak Stud at the end of her competition career, Jack is her first foal. She is by Huntingfield Rebel and her dam line is Ginger Dick. At her Irish Draught Grading, Lili attained Class 1 along with a Bronze merit for conformation and movement. This is rarely handed out at gradings. She has had an excellent competition career having evented and show jumped up to 1.20, and she competed up to Elementary dressage. All at affiliated level. She was awarded a Silver merit by the Irish Draught Society for her achievements at SJ and Eventing. Lili is a kind, easy going mare with a bold, workish temperament. She is a pleasure in every way so it is no wonder Jack is as nice as he is, given who his parents are.
Jack’s dam is 16hh and his sire is 15.2hh. It is impossible to say what height the will make at this stage however I expect him to mature to somewhere around the 16hh mark.
This colt has been bred at Silveroak Stud, where we are experienced breeders of Irish Draught horses. We have top-quality, carefully chosen stallions and broodmares. Our focus is firmly on the traditional type of Draught — a safe, sane, sound horse with presence and quality, suitable for showing, competition, and as a genuine family horse to be enjoyed by all. We specialise in the smaller more traditional type of Irish Draught and strive to breed sensible, top quality horses.
Jack is up to date with worming and his feeding regime is carefully monitored to ensure healthy growth, but not a pushed over growth. He is currently looking very scruffy in his winter coat and it’s a job to keep him and his stable mate Louis coats looking clean! So you would definitely be seeing Jack right now in his ‘work clothes’. However a true swan will appear from under the woolly exterior as his spring coat arrives. And if you are a first time foal owner don’t worry as we are always here for help and advice as our foals grow up. He loves people, and he loves fuss and cuddles.
This is a reluctant sale as Jack is a much loved young horse. His future matters greatly to us, and finding the right person is far more important than a quick sale. We breed a small number of quality foals each year and I believe that we owe it to the foals to make sure, as best we can, that they find the right homes. I am looking for someone who would want to take Jack on, in a home for life where he will be well cared for and valued. I would love to see him have the opportunity to achieve his true potential, but more importantly, I want him to go to a home where he will be loved. We try to set our foals up as best we can for the future and we are happy to stay in touch and offer guidance as they grow up, if any buyer wanted this as I appreciate that it can be a daunting task taking on a young foal.
Please get in touch for any further information, I can tell you all about his sire and dam. Viewings welcome for genuinely interested parties. Photos also show Jacks Sire and Dam.
