Pure bred American Quarter Horse gelding, born 24 January 2022.
Apollo is a very handsome young horse, approx 15hh, with rare grulla colouring.
I purchased him directly from his breeder at 6 months old as my forever horse. He’s always been inquisitive, very quick to learn, very trusting and very affectionate.
He lived out in a field with friends, until he went to be backed last August. He’s used to being with other horses and is sociable.
He was backed by Clare Fielding, a professional event rider, over three months, in Autumn 2025. He was straightforward, quiet and quick to learn. By the time he came home in November, he was happily lunging in all three paces, hacking out alone, and being ridden in a busy ménage. He was unphased by jumps, bins, traffic and would happily walk onto a tarpaulin, and stand quietly.
During his three months of training, he was stabled for 8 hours per day and turned out for the rest of the time, so he is used to that routine, but is equally comfortable living out 24/7.
Apollo loads and travels well in a trailer, a 7.5 tonne rear-loading lorry, and a side-loading 3.5 tonne lorry, nothing phases him. Unshod, good to have his feet trimmed, good to catch, doesn’t kick or bite, no vices, loves being fussed over, loves being groomed.
He has a kind, quiet nature and a very trainable attitude, picking things up quickly and wanting to please.
Apollo is now 4 years old (born 24.01.2022) and has been living out with friends since he came back after backing, in November 2025.
Apollo has been with me since he was six months old and was intended to be my forever horse, so this is a very difficult decision. Unfortunately my health now forces his sale, and I want to find him the right home where he can continue to progress and reach his full potential.
Please note: Apollo will be sold from the field, as there are no facilities available to try him under saddle.
A genuinely kind young horse with excellent basics and a bright future ahead.
Serious enquiries only. Clare is happy to verify all the above.
5 star home essential.
