Flo is a beautiful 138cm, 6-year-old Welsh Section C mare with exceptional breeding. She is a full sister to a Royal Welsh Champion and was originally purchased as a top ridden prospect.
She has competed successfully in Intro and Prelim dressage, consistently scoring 65%+.
Flo is a pleasure to have out and about — she hacks confidently both alone and in company, and is unfazed by traffic, cyclists etc. She has enjoyed Somerford Park Farm Ride, where she proved bold and willing, jumping everything asked of her. She has also attended polework clinics and happily jumped a small course of coloured fences.
Unfortunately, Flo sustained a field injury last autumn, resulting in a blemish to the front of her left hock. While this does not affect her soundness, it means she is no longer suitable for the showing ring.
She’s now back in work and due to attend a stay away clinic next month.
She is currently weak in canter on the left rein and can become disunited at times; however, this has been assessed by our vet as a strength issue, and with continued work, pole exercises, and fitness, this is expected to improve. Full details, vet and physio notes available.
With her outstanding breeding, Flo would make a lovely broodmare, or with time and correct production, an excellent Pony Club / Riding Club pony. She would also suit someone looking for a hacking partner.
Home is of the utmost importance — Flo is a much-loved pony, and finding her the right match is my priority.
Due to her age, type and coming back into work she is not suited to a young child or novice rider.
Loan would be preferred, but a sale may be considered for the perfect long-term 5* home.
