Cadlanvalley Atlantis. Beautiful inside and out with lovely old fashioned breeding. We have owned Atlantis for six years and produced her from just backed aged nine. Super low mileage and always lightly jumped.
BS £443, 124 points. In 2025 she won £245 BS, 72 points from a light schedule. Sadly my girl grew too tall for her for competitions so we called time on competing her. She has won and placed in competitive BS 80cm opens (rider over age for BN) against some very good JA ponies. Decent BS record for non BS regulars. Trailblazers finals 2022 and 2023 (I jumped her in the adults on ponies too in 2022 and placed every day, and had a blast). Academy sessions.
Hacked on roads, fields and tracks alone or in company almost daily as we have no school. Great to clip, load, travel, handle, with traffic and trim (barefoot always). Leads beautifully from another and lunges nicely. Up to date vacs and teeth (Nov '25), worm counts etc. Not a single day sick or sorry in five years and on no medication / no health issues. Exceptionally friendly and loves people and cuddles. Enjoys a varied life as part of our herd living out, tracked or yarded. In full work.
She has plenty of Welsh sparkle, opinion and character but is a complete dude of a pony for a decent child (my daughter was aged 9 when we got her), and for the right child is an outstanding jumping pony with scope to go higher with a lighter and smaller jockey.
We did sell Atlantis in May to a tiny 9yo jockey but despite a really promising first couple of months the lifestyle did not work for her and she became too much for her rider and we took her back. Since stepping off the lorry on her return she has not put a foot wrong and we have taken her out to a course hire where she was as good fun as ever.
She will not carry a passenger and does need to be ridden well but if your child is game and brave then she is a pony that will win classes without trying. Jumping comes very easily to her and she loves her airtime. She is a natural athlete and almost never touches a pole. She is one of those that, if a bit stuffy doing flatwork, you pop a jump and she comes alive.
Please no novices, she can be gassy, firey and sharp and will show her dislike of an unbalanced rider or one who rides with the handbrake pretty quickly! Not a novice ride. She is a competition pony and likes to get on with the job. Catch her in the mouth or hang on her mouth to steer and she will get upset. She needs a rider who keeps riding her forward and allows her forward. She is not for a nervous child or parent. Having said all of that she was usually one of the sanest in BS warm ups and day to day is a really easy kind pony to have around.
Kind knowledgeable and experienced long term loving home sought, ideally with an older sibling / small adult to hop on her if need be. We are in no hurry and can keep her but my daughter is sadly now way too tall for her. Very realistically priced and open to offers. Open to any vetting. We would like first refusal on any future sale. She is a too good a showjumper to be gathering dust but we do want an experienced family to be fair to her.
