- Are you an experienced home looking for a tall, athletic, quality performance bred youngster to go out and do a class job but on a budget?
- Hamlet's your guy!
2yo gelding by Jalapeño out of a Tinarana (Argentinus) x Puissance mare from a proven performance damline that has produced showjumpers to 1.40m, eventers to 3* and dressage horses to Advanced Medium.
Since a foal, I had intended to keep Hamlet on and eventually grade him as a stallion as I believe him to be quality enough with a brilliant temperament but unfortunately Hamlet could not wear his testicles responsibly and so he's had them taken off! Which means I no longer have a space for him, much to my misery, in part because he is out of my favourite mare and I've always wanted to retain a quality colt from her.
Hamlet is currently standing 15.3hh and is actively growing, I think he has at least another hand to go so should finish at least 16.3hh. He has good length of rein, beautiful lines and is an elegant mix of blood and substance.
GOOD BITS
- Excellent temperament. Hamlet is a real character, he loves people and loves to play. He is always smiling and up for a good time with an inquisitive and trainable brain. Not a single nasty thought has ever even been in the vicinity of his head. An all round good cheeky boy.
- Has always lived out in a herd, currently living in a mixed herd. Comes in to be stabled without issue when needed.
- Sound and straight with no vices.
- Athletic, moves well and comes from a strong performance dam line, Hamlet will go on in to any job whether it's dressage, eventing, showjumping or hunting.
- Will come in from the field away from his friends, has had his feet and worming done regularly throughout his life.
- Bred here so full history known from birth. Sire, dam and half siblings can be seen.
- Is yellow
BAD BIT
- As is common in young horses that grow too quickly he has some chips in his near side hock. This was never a concern to us and hasn't concerned the vet either and it wouldn't have stopped us backing him and pursuing a competition career with us - the only thing that stopped him was his testicles! Which are now gone, which means we no longer have a job for him here. He is sound and straight and we don't expect them to cause a problem but if they do they can be removed.
- Is yellow
For this reason I am open to taking a fraction of his value for a horse of his quality for a straightforward sale to see him in a good, long term home where he can be produced to his full potential and go off and do a great job for someone. He is absolutely not worthless and he is not broken but we want to see him in a home that will really utilise his potential. No dealers please.
