Floss is a truly beautiful mare inside and out, combining quality breeding, correct conformation and a temperament that is hard to find. A lovely modern type with plenty of presence, she is the sort that immediately catches the eye whilst remaining genuine, kind and easy in every way.
By the ever popular Sligo Candy Boy, Floss inherits many of the outstanding attributes associated with this sought-after sire line — rideability, versatility, athleticism and an exceptional trainable temperament. She is a mare with all the raw ingredients to go on and excel in a variety of disciplines whilst equally being the type to enjoy and build a partnership with.
Floss has been in the same home since being professionally broken in by ourselves and has enjoyed a varied and sympathetic lifestyle, giving her a solid all-round education. She has spent her time hacking, schooling and being produced correctly without pressure by an amateur rider, allowing her to mature into the genuine and straightforward mare she is today.
She is a pleasure to hack both alone and in company, remaining reliable and sensible in open spaces as well as being good in farm and village traffic. She has seen plenty of the world and takes everything in her stride with a calm and willing attitude.
On the flat she works in a soft, balanced outline with three good paces and gives a lovely feel under saddle. She is comfortable, straightforward and willing. She has done plenty of dressage clinics and a handful of tests always with positive comments form the judges!
Floss has recently done a lot more jumping and has a natural ability over a fence, she jumps courses of 1m with ease, she has done a good handful of BS shows on a ticket at home. She would really suit someone wanting to go out and jump and have fun.
One of Floss’ biggest assets is her outstanding temperament. She is exceptionally kind, affectionate and easy to have around — never marish, loves attention and is genuinely a pleasure to deal with daily. Easy to catch, clip, shoe and load, she is the sort that fits effortlessly into any yard routine and quickly becomes everyone’s favourite.
This is a very sad sale on behalf of a client, and finding the right home for her is of the utmost importance. She deserves a knowledgeable 5★ home where she can continue to flourish and reach her full potential.
