Cundlegreen Isabeau (‘Indie’) was sourced from a small Norfolk stud farm as a weanling and I have raised her since then with the intention of being my next event horse to go up the levels. Devastatingly due purely to my situation I simply can’t give her the time and development she deserves.

She has an impressive pedigree, 75 % blood and 25 % Welsh D. Sired by Universal (IRE) by supersire Dubawi. Indie’s dam was homebred by Indie’s breeder, who also owned and campaigned both dam’s parents. Cundlegreen Birthday Girl, ‘Becky’ evented to Intermediate and was also a successful Working Hunter show horse despite her small size, including 2nd RIHS WH 2007.

Indie herself showed very well in-hand as a youngster, despite minimal preparation as she lived out full time in a small herd – Gold British Breeding Futurity as a foal, Champion Light Horse Foal Norfolk County show 2021, 2nd Royal Bath and West yearling sports horse 2022, 2nd Wiltshire Spring show mixed 2 yo class 2023. She was allowed to grow and mature slowly and correctly while still being regularly handled.

Backed and ridden away easily last autumn and kept ticking over with some hacking in the winter. She has only been in ‘proper’ work since the start of April but is coming along incredibly well and is now ready to go out and do some arena hires/her first shows. Established in all 3 paces with a correct and easy natural outline, she is doing pole work and the very start of some lateral work, and will begin jumping under saddle soon if not moved on. She has both the brains and temperament that make her a true pleasure to ride and train, and will be an asset to a professional or experienced amateur, either for their own string or to begin competing and then move on. I truly believe she could go far in multiple spheres. Hacks well on small lanes and tracks in company and is happy to lead. More nervous hacking solo but has not done this much and improves every time.
