Heartbreaking sale of a real-life “Dream Machine”
Now looking for his next best friend.
Lenny the Dream Machine
138cm dapple grey, 12-year-old gelding.
Owned and loved by us for the last 4 years, where he has genuinely exceeded every dream we had for our daughter. He is only for sale because she has hopelessly outgrown him.
Lenny has taken my daughter from jumping unaffiliated 50cm classes to competing successfully at BS 90cm/1m, but more importantly, he has improved her riding, ringcraft and confidence beyond anything we could have hoped for.
He is snaffle-mouthed with established changes and is one of the most consistent ponies you could wish to find. He takes a miss, always looks after his jockey and never stops trying. Quick-thinking, careful and incredibly honest, he will chip in when needed and always comes through the finish flags.
He is naturally quick against the clock, turns on a sixpence, yet is kind enough to step down for a less experienced rider.

Lenny is good to clip, load and travel, and is brilliant at stay-away shows. He catches himself, is barefoot and always has been, and has never required supplements or medication.
He hacks alone or in company, is good in traffic and open spaces, and has enjoyed beach rides, fun rides and Pony Club activities. He is brave, genuine and unphased by life. He doesn’t spook, loves his job and always tries his heart out.
At home my daughter has jumped individual fences up to 1.20m on him, but we have always kept him at 90cm–1m in competition as she simply didn’t need more. I genuinely believe he has plenty more to give with a capable jockey.
Most importantly, he is the ultimate child’s pony. Safe, kind and forgiving, yet talented enough to be competitive. He has given our daughter more confidence, happiness and success than we ever thought possible.
Lenny has a huge personality, comes when called and greets you every morning. He has been a mother’s dream and a once-in-a-lifetime pony.
He can be left for days or weeks and ridden exactly as if he’d been worked yesterday.
Health & Vetting
Recent 5-stage vetting and X-rays showed one lower hock joint fully fused and one almost fully fused. Our vet advised that he may possibly require joint injections at some point in the future, although he may never need them.
In the four years we have owned him, he has never been lame, sick or sorry, and his record and performance speak for themselves. He is currently unmedicated, barefoot, worked regularly and has only seen the vet for routine vaccinations. Full veterinary records can be provided.
We truly believe you would struggle to find a safer, kinder or more genuine pony for a child.
This is an incredibly difficult sale, and he will only go to the very best 5? home. No timewasters or joyriders please.
Price negotiable to the right home.
We adore this pony and would love to stay in touch with his new family. We would love to watch him go on and do for another child exactly what he has done for ours.
