Dude is a 10 year old dark bay Irish sports pony (LHC 148). His mum was a 13.2 jumping pony and his dad a thoroughbred - sired by the great Galileo. Dude enjoys the adjustability and cleverness of a pony with the quality and stride of his father. With a willing can do attitude he is nicely forward and sensitive to the aids but not strong, competing all three phases in snaffle and cavesson. Dude is also a generous pony, digging his rider out of holes without bearing a grudge.
In the last three years Dude has been very carefully produced and has progressed with my son from BE 80 to BE100 where he has become firmly established, popping the toughest of tracks with ease and achieving many double clears and top ten placings along the way. He has the quality, scope and attitude for pony trials - sadly GCSE’s prevented us from taking that next step last year. To make up for that he competed in the Badminton Grassroots Championships and placed 6th at the final in May this year with a fabulous double clear, earning himself a ridden prize giving at Badminton House.
Dude excels in all three phases and has more to give. With a dressage loving jockey he could be consistently in the 20’s improving his many placings to wins.
In the last three years Dude has also done all things pony club from rallies and camp to winning rugs at Hickstead and rosettes at spring and summer champs.
As a six year old Dude competed BS for seven months gaining all his double clears in british novice, discovery and newcomers . He can pop around a foxhunter and trains over 120/130 at home. We have not had much time for BS with his eventing and PC team competitions.
Dude has not competed WHP but is a great stamp for it and has the jump and presence to shine.
Dude is a sports pony and would suit a jockey that has had some competition experience, perhaps now looking to step up a level, or he could continue to excel at Badminton Grassroots even with a small adult. With his small horse stride he is a fun and comfortable ride.
We are looking for a loving and experienced family home where he can continue to excel and build on his success.
Serious enquiries only by telephone please. Many videos and references available. In return, references will be requested from prospective new homes.
