DYCOTT THE SHOWMAN
Barbie as he is known at home is the most easiest pony to have on the yard. He is easy to catch, load, bath & clip.
I have owned Barbie since he was a 3 year old and he has been carefully bought on. He is probably one of the most talented ponies over a fence I have had in a good long time. Due to owners ponies having to come first he is low mileage and hence his reason of sale; I just don't get the time to give to him to produce him how I would like, or give him a fair chance at gaining the results I know he could achieve.
He has jumped some lovely clear rounds in the 133cm HOYS & RI Q this year which I was pleased as he unfortunately takes the back seat due to prioritising clients ponies.
He is always bold to a fence, and is quite clever to find a 5th leg to get you out of trouble. I feel he has lots of potential to gain many strings to his bow with the right rider/family. He has competed in arena eventing, SJ WHP and been XC schooling and nothing seems to cause an issue. He will stable alone or in company and stand on the lorry and trailer with mares, gelding, stallions or on his own.
His only bad fault is he is slightly cold backed. I find the more constant work he is in the better he is but the worst he does is goes tight through his girth but he is easy to lunge so if I find I have a clash of classes at a show which happens a fair bit I just get someone to spin him on the lunge for a few minutes.
Due to his height I think he would suit a small adult or competitive child/teen that wants to go and have fun as he really feels like you can jump anything with his ability. I also think he could have a super career as a 128cm jumping pony with the right child.
