Description
Rolo is a stunning, athletic 6-year-old gelding with a fantastic personality. He is incredibly sweet-natured, a complete joy to have around the yard, and possesses top-quality performance bloodlines.
He is fully fit, in consistent work, and absolutely loves his job. While he has previously popped around 70cm courses with ease, his current work is focused primarily on his flatwork schooling, with jumping introduced occasionally (regularly ticking over at 50cm or 60cm depending on the session) due to rider preference. He went to his first competition last year where he behaved impeccably, proving to be sensible, focused, and level-headed in a busy environment. He is forward-going, possesses a super back and neat technique over a fence, and always wants to please.
Ideal Rider
Rolo would suit a confident teenager looking to produce a pony for BSJA, or a gutsy junior rider looking to move up and excel in Working Hunter or pony club tracks.Because he can still be a bit green and can get a bit fizzy at times, strictly no novices please. He is completely genuine—he never does anything silly to hurt you and never tries to chuck his rider off. He is a powerful, forward pony who knows his job, but he never does anything out of malice, he is just genuinely enthusiastic about his work! And he is always in the ribbons in any show he does!!
Ground Manners & Traits
Excellent for the vet and farrier.
Good to bathe and mixes very well with others in the field.
No stable vices.
Can be slightly nervy to travel and has required sedation for clipping in the past, though he has had plenty of practice since and is improving nicely with patience.
