- 14.2hh Handsome Black Gelding with Unknown Breeding 16 years young!
- Fun PC / Allrounder type
- Easy to handle and do - A yard favourite
I have owned Jack for nearly 2 years, he is my first horse and he has been hugely fun.
He is easy to do and a yard favourite. Great for the vet, farrier, dentist, physio etc. easy to clip and bath. Isn’t silly to turn out/bring in, just doesn’t like to be left alone in the field,so best suited to somewhere with other horses around. Loads and travels well, has been in a trailer and 3.5t lorry with me.
We have been out to do so much together including:
-unaffiliated and team dressage
-riding club competitions
-arena hires
-day camps
-clear rounds
-inhand, pole, flatwork and jump clinics.
I regularly go out alone and never feel like I need extra help with him. He has hunted and done XC in previous homes but not with me.
Jack enjoys his jumping, he is a forward-thinking, sensitive horse and is best suited to a confident rider who enjoys something buzzy. Prior to me owning him, Jack was successfully competed by competent young teenagers (11–14).
On the flat he works really nicely in an outline once warmed up and we consistently score 65-70% working at Intro and Prelim. He has competed at Novice level with scores of +70% prior to me owning him and has been to area festivals. He has proved to be relaxed at competitions, and doesn’t seem bothered by a busy warm-up arena.
He has a BD record and a SJI record.
He is happiest hacking in company and I can ride him on the buckle, even in a group and in open spaces. He is good in traffic. He can be nappy hacking alone so would suit someone confident who is happy to continue this work.
He thrives with variety and I would love for him to go to a home where he can continue to go out to clinics/low level comps/PC as he still has so much to give.
Please note he is not for a total novice rider.
A very difficult decision, but I am now looking to step up to larger horse for my own riding goals. Finding him the right long-term home is far more important than a quick sale.
