17.1 dark bay/black 9 year old TB.
Effie is a striking, quality Thoroughbred who has been an absolute pleasure when beginning his retraining over the past 6 months. He has come on tremendously and is now ready to continue his education with a knowledgeable, experienced home.
During his retraining, Effie has attended clinics, lessons, cross-country hire, and a sponsored ride, showing fantastic potential.
On the flat, Effie works beautifully in a correct outline with established walk, trot, and canter, including correct leads. He is now beginning lateral work and is a genuinely enjoyable horse to school. We have popped some show jumps.
Effie hacks out alone or in company but can be forward going and sharp so requires a confident rider. Never strong, ridden in a snaffle and never bombed off of me.
Effie has excellent manners on the ground. He stands quietly to mount, is good for the farrier and dentist, loads well, and is easy to handle around other horses. He currently lives happily in a herd of geldings.
Effie has had a huge amount of time, patience, and correct training invested in him, and the progress he has made has been outstanding. However, he is still a young Thoroughbred in his retraining and should be considered a project. He is a big, athletic, sharp horse who will thrive with consistent one-to-one attention to continue developing his considerable potential.
This is an incredibly difficult sale, made solely due to lack of time with two young children and other commitments. In the right hands, another year of education will see Effie develop into a brilliant horse. If circumstances were different, he simply wouldn't be leaving.

Absolutely no novices. Effie needs a capable, experienced rider who understands Thoroughbreds and enjoys producing a talented horse.
The right home is the priority, but please no time wasters—this is a quality horse with a bright, fun future.
