Diablo is a seriously smart horse with plenty of presence, excellent conformation and a substantial frame. A comfortable ride with three quality paces, he combines talent, trainability and rideability in a package that is becoming increasingly difficult to find.
He is exceptionally well bred, being by Diacontinus, one of Germany's most respected stallions. Diacontinus is renowned for producing modern sport horses with outstanding rideability, elasticity and scope, with offspring excelling across both dressage and showjumping disciplines. Out of a mare by Feiner Graf, a stallion admired for passing on exceptional movement, elegance and willingness to work, Diablo possesses all the attributes expected from such proven bloodlines.
Competing successfully at British Dressage Novice level, Diablo has consistently achieved very respectable scores. What stands out most is not necessarily a single result, but his reliability and consistency. He is the sort of horse that enters the arena, gets on with the job and produces an accurate, obedient and polished test every time. He is now ready to progress to Elementary level and is already training comfortably at Medium movements at home.
Whilst dressage has been his primary focus, Diablo is an incredibly versatile horse. He genuinely enjoys his jumping and happily pops a course of fences with enthusiasm and confidence. Schooling around tracks of 90cm–1m with ease, there is absolutely no reason why he would not thoroughly enjoy a day out at British Showjumping. Although he has not been campaigned competitively over fences, he certainly has the ability and attitude to do so.
He hacks confidently both alone and in company and is a pleasure to have around the yard. Good to catch, shoe, load, travel and handle, he is very straightforward to manage and enjoys a varied lifestyle.
It is this versatility that makes Diablo such an appealing prospect. Horses capable of producing competitive dressage scores one weekend and happily jumping a course of fences the next are increasingly difficult to find.
The current owner has owned Diablo since he was a foal, making this an incredibly genuine and very sad sale. His full history is known, and he has been produced carefully and correctly throughout his life. Opportunities to purchase horses with this level of education, breeding, versatility and known history are few and far between.
