A truly heartbreaking sale due to my own health issues and lack of time. This is not a decision I’ve made lightly, so only the very best home will be considered.
Ruben is an absolute gentleman both on the ground and under saddle. He is a low-mileage horse, having been given plenty of time to mature, and he has taken everything in his stride. Although still green, he has established the basics well and is a lovely, willing ride who will only improve with further education.
He is naturally forward-going, responsive off the leg, and has recently started jumping. He has an incredible jump, is brave to a fence, and hasn’t said no to anything asked of him. On his first cross-country outing, he was bold, confident, and eager, making him an exciting prospect for the future.
Ruben hacks happily both alone and in company and has always been sensible and trustworthy. He is excellent in open spaces and in traffic, and I’ve never once felt unsafe riding him. As he is still a young horse, he would suit a confident and capable rider who can continue his education.
He has all the makings of a fantastic grassroots competition horse. He has completed a round of showjumping and been out to dressage, scoring in the high 60s on his very first outing. Every time he has left the yard, he has behaved impeccably. He loads, travels, and stands quietly without fuss.
Ruben is happy living in or out, has no stable vices, and is genuinely one of the easiest horses to care for. He is currently barefoot and is excellent for the farrier. He gets on well with other horses and has no veterinary history.
Above all, I’d love to see Ruben find a forever home where someone can fulfil the huge potential he has. He genuinely loves his work and has the kindest temperament you could wish for. He is a very special horse, and this sale is only happening because of my circumstances. Price is negotiable to the right home.
