Trilby is a striking Quarter Horse × Paint gelding with exceptional looks and the breeding to match. Having been in the same home since he was a yearling, he has been given the very best start in life.
Professionally backed just 8 weeks ago, Trilby has taken everything in his stride. He is bold, brave, incredibly willing, and learns quickly.
Since returning home, he has hacked confidently both alone and in company. Nothing seems to faze him—buses, tractors, lorries, traffic—you name it. He loves his hacking, happily walking along on a loose rein, never strong or silly. He also canters through the woods with confidence and a sensible attitude.
In the school, Trilby is established in walk, trot, and canter. He is more of a “whoa than go ride,” while still being responsive to the leg and showing a lovely attitude to learning. He recently attended his first group pole-clinic, where he saw poles for the very first time and took the whole experience in his stride.
On the ground, Trilby is kind, polite, easy to handle, and has a calm, affectionate temperament. He enjoys having a job and genuinely seems to love his work. He is now ready for someone to continue his education and put their own stamp on a quality young horse.
He is:
• Up to date with vaccinations
• Recently seen by the dentist
• Excellent to groom, bathe, and for the farrier (currently barefoot)
• Good to load and travel
• Currently living out happily in a mixed herd
Trilby has a very bright future ahead of him. He has all the attributes to make a fantastic all-rounder or family horse with further education, and his breeding and movement suggest he would also excel in Western disciplines.
