15.2, 13-year-old, Homebred TB x WB Mare
Squirrel really has done it all. She has competed BS to Discovery, attended dressage competitions and BE training events, and most recently won the Novice Working Hunter before standing Reserve Champion.
She works beautifully on the flat with three correct paces and is brave, careful and incredibly genuine to jump. She’s the type of horse that always wants to help her rider and never holds a grudge if they make a mistake.
Squirrel is an absolute pleasure to have on the yard. Easy to catch, load, travel and shoe, she stands quietly on the lorry, happily goes out with others or waits on her own.
She is ridden by everyone here and recently attended an arena hire with a 13-year-old rider who had never ridden her before (video available).
She hacks brilliantly in company and is sensible in open spaces. One of her only faults is that she can lack confidence hacking alone and needs reassurance.
She has had two years out to produce a lovely foal, due to a lack of rider.
This is an absolutely heartbreaking sale. Squirrel has been bred, produced and loved by the same family her whole life. She deserves a competitive young rider or amateur who will appreciate just how special she is and enjoy everything she still has to offer.
She is the Ultimate Allrounder who can turn her hoof to anything.
