17hh | 13-year-old Grey Gelding
A striking grey gelding with exceptional breeding, Stan boasts fabulous bloodlines.
Stan is a beautiful, powerful mover with an impressive step and a naturally balanced, uphill canter. He produces a lovely dressage test, but it’s jumping where he truly comes into his own. He absolutely loves his job and is at his happiest with a set of fences in front of him.
Although relatively low mileage for his age, Stan has enjoyed a varied career. He hunted as a young horse in a previous home and has successfully competed at BE90, producing double clears, a sub-30 dressage score and a top-three placing. In more recent years, he has had a quieter lifestyle, attending the odd unaffiliated dressage and showjumping competition, as well as cross-country schooling, meaning he still has plenty to offer his next rider.
Stan hacks happily alone or in company, is good in the traffic he has encountered with both us and his current owners, and is fabulous in open spaces. He is a genuine pleasure to have on the yard—easy to handle in and out of the stable, ridden by a variety of people, and adored by everyone who meets him.
Stan would be perfectly suited to a Riding Club home where he can get back out enjoying fun rides, clinics, competitions, hunting or low-level eventing. He thrives on having a job and has the kindest, happiest outlook on life.
Stan can occasionally throw an excitable buck when feeling fresh, but he has never been one to unseat his rider. For this reason, he would not be suitable for a novice rider.
Before viewings are arranged, we would like to have a telephone conversation to discuss a minor point in Stan’s veterinary history. It requires no maintenance or ongoing treatment, but we believe in being completely open and honest to ensure he finds the very best home.
This is a genuinely heartbreaking sale of a much-loved horse.
