Doris is a beautiful, quality Connemara mare with Class 1 breeding on both sides.
She is a confident, capable and competitive pony who genuinely enjoys her work. Doris will confidently take you to a fence, loves a show, had a few days out XC and an Hunt and has developed into a very competent, enjoyable ride on the flat. She moves beautifully and gives a lovely feel.
Over the last two years she has competed regularly at Pony Club and unaffiliated competitions at 60cm, 70cm and 80cm, frequently coming home with rosettes and wins. She has jumped 90cm and 1m confidently at home.
Her recent results include:
Regular winner at Pony Club Grassroots and PC70 dressage
9th overall in the Winter Showjumping League, despite missing two rounds
5th overall in the Winter Dressage League, again missing two rounds
5th at the Pony Club Spring Festival 2026 in PC70 Dressage
Doris is equally lovely to have around on the ground. She is happy to stand tied up, loves being groomed and is easy to load, clip and shoe. She is also excellent for the dentist and physio.
She hacks happily alone or in company and is very good in traffic.
Doris has not required the vet for anything significant during the last two years, other than routine/minor checks. She passed a five-stage vetting in October 2024 and is up to date with her teeth and vaccinations.
We would not describe Doris as a first pony. She deserves a confident rider who is ready to get out competing, continue progressing with her and, most importantly, have a lot of fun.
She is an extremely likeable, lovable pony with a huge amount to offer the right home. Loads of vids on request
This is a very reluctant sale, but we feel the time has come for us to move on to the next stage and for Doris to find someone who can continue enjoying everything she has to offer.
