Inca is a much-loved 16-year-old mare who is looking for a forever home due to her rider heading to university.
She is a genuine, competitive mare who enjoys her job and loves getting out and about. She currently has 107 British show jumping points remaining, leaving plenty of mileage at the level. She is also only three further low placings away from qualifying for the British Novice Second Rounds, having previously qualified.
After a break from the British Showjumping ring, Inca returned this weekend with a double clear at British Novice, showing she is straight back into competitive form.
Although primarily showjumped, she is versatile and would happily turn her hand to eventing or hunting. Which she has done both, providing to really enjoy it. She would suit someone wanting to have fun across different disciplines rather than simply jumping week in, week out.
Inca does need a confident and experienced rider. She can be spooky and, if allowed, is a bit of a drama queen! However, with the right rider who is confident (doesn’t ride with their hands) and doesn't let her overthink things, I find her very straightforward and easy to ride. She responds best to someone positive and reassuring.
She is also a lovely hack and will hack happily both alone and in company.
She does best on a busy, established yard with plenty going on. She can become very attached to her horsey friends if given the opportunity, so a yard with only a couple of horses would not be suitable for her. A busy yard where she has plenty of company and a routine would suit her much better.
She has never been sick or sorry and is only being sold due to her rider heading to university. This is a very difficult sale and finding the right home is extremely important.
We are looking for someone who will compete and produce her sensibly, rather than run her into the ground over jumps.
She has plenty left to give and deserves a varied life with a good balance of competition, hacking and fun.
