Freddie is a much-loved, experienced showjumper who has previously competed internationally up to 1.40m. Over the last few years he has stepped down and has done a wonderful job of teaching his current rider the ropes, giving them invaluable experience and confidence.
This season he qualified for the National Amateur Second Rounds at both 95cm and 1.05m, showing that he still thoroughly enjoys his work. We are now looking for Freddie to step down again and find a quieter, easier life without the demands of regular competitive jumping.
He is a very well-mannered, gentle and genuine horse who is good to hack and has been a huge part of our family. His experience and knowledge make him a very special horse, and finding the right person and home for him is far more important to us than making a quick sale.
Freddie is a very kind, gentle horse with lovely manners, but he is still an experienced competition horse and can become sharp or hot when excited or wound up. He therefore requires a confident, knowledgeable and experienced home that understands this type of horse. In the right hands he is an absolute gentleman, but he would not be suitable for a novice or inexperienced rider.
Due to his age, Freddie does have a medical history and ongoing maintenance requirements, which will be discussed openly and in full with genuinely interested prospective buyers. For this reason, we are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable home who understands the needs of an older competition horse and will put his long-term happiness and welfare first.
An ideal home would be somewhere Freddie can enjoy a varied, lower-pressure life with plenty of attention and care. We would love to find someone who will appreciate him for the lovely horse he is and give him the 5★ forever home he deserves.
